These problems, such as environmental pollution, energy depletion, conflicts and wars, need international dialogues and cooperation. Although the specific conditions vary from country to country, many problems share the same roots. Thus, should a global university be built, students from all over the world could sit together to analyze the problems and share the experiences of success and failure, which will definitely bring different perspectives to problems, reduce conflicts and promote cultural exchanges between countries.

The ideal assumption above is what we expect if a global university could be constructed, but it is too hard for them to come up to the professionals of every field when taking students’ knowledge level into consideration. The major task for them is to study because their theoretical system is not perfect enough and they do not have adequate energy to solve problems. Therefore, the good assumption may not produce good results. Perhaps some specific research institutes are more suitable and specialized in resolving social problems.

How to settle this problem? I suggest that global universities could at first foster its students the sensitiveness of international affairs, develop their critical thinking and analyzing ability. After that, students could choose the certain field by their interests and do their share for addressing problems in their future career. Their research results could be also reported to the government and acts as important documents for further analysis.
