Study is the corepurpose we’re engaging in the colleague. The idea and the concept is theabstract from the daily the life, while the detail facts are directcorrespondence against the truth. Students are divided on this area. In myopinion, what is the most important for students to do in the colleague is tounderstand ideas and concept, because information booming require methodicthinking, deeper analysis and comprehensive application.

To begin with, it isnecessary to focus on the ideas and concept understand on the background thatthe information age is challenging our world, and revolute every angle of disciplines.We may halt in the steps to the trifle, but we can grasp the core gist if weuse methodic thinking. For example, before the periodical table of chemicalelements emerged, scientists are working on the finding of every wonder elementwhich was expected to stun the world, from the oxygen to helium and ferrousmetal elements. But there was still one concern they were facing, how manykinds of element there are, can we find a common place in the finding?
Russian scientist come to a periodical tablewhich can perfectly solve this problem. The elements which differ by 7 ormultiple of 7 can be ranked into one group which share the similar chemical orphysical property. It is the basic idea for scientific community to researchthe hidden property or new elements. By now, more than 120 elements
have been discovered.

In addition to themethodic thinking, deeper analysis can be helpful when we face the informationbooming. We can understand the facts much deeper if we can come to a thread ofthe seemingly capricious events. For example, the revolution between different socialclasses repeated all through the world, the American civil war is just so. Itis the battle between the northern freedom idealist and the southern slaveryplantation. When we analyzed the cause of this war, it is quite similar to France revolution or Russia revolution, the existingregulation slavery impeded the productivity of the American, and people areeager for the emancipate of the economy and politics. When we’re aware of thisthread, we can easily understand what’s the problem of this war.

Last but not least,the preferable ideas and concept understanding can be positive in thecomprehensive application. A lot of great inventions come from the inspirationof idea. The fish’s limb body and slippery scale can reduce the back force sothat it can reach a rapid speed. Submarine has improved a lot on the speed, agilitybased on this concept.

Success is the destination of the seaway that people take different unpredictable route ahead to. Some people think they should follow the seemingly authentic path, safe and short distance, some people think they can try a different strange path with a wish to find a new continent. University education is like the seemingly authentic path, but in my opinion, it is not the most important factor of reaching the destination, because there are some other factors, such as the foresightedness, teamwork that is the pivotal factors.

To begin with, it is foresightedness that may lead to a great success. The secular will crowd into the red sea that is full of competitor, the foresighted will create the blue sea instead, and write his own history. Steve Job is a talented student when in his university time, surprisingly he quitted this study, and worked with his one friend in the garage to do something mysterious. Steve had predicted that the personal computer would prevail in the market, and it is the new spring of his dream. The apple come to this world, and soon take over the entire market. Steve’s peculiar idiosyncrasy puzzled the direct board, and was banished to the company in the 1989. But he was back when the apple is in the collapse. This return greatly inspired the company and the whole industry, it is his foresightedness that leads the apple back to the top 1 of the industry.

In additional to the foresightedness, teamwork also plays a substantial importance role in the success. A team without a coherence is like a hand of sand, it can be beaten even by breeze, while when the team is organized as a group, it is invincible. The Spain football team won the 2010 football world cup, Germany and Deutschland took the 2nd and 3rd prize. Their player team member is not as skillful as Kaka from Brail or Christina Donald from Portuguese, but they have one common point, that is they play as a team. Every player defend positively, offense aggressively and run actively. No matter what role the member play in the team, they observed the sole command, that is to win the game as a team.

Some might argue that the university education is very important to the success. Undoubtedly a lot of people who graduate from the university now take on different jobs of the society, while not all of them reach the success, some stop the pace in front of vanity, some halt to enjoy the hedonism. As the speed of information booming is so fast that what we learn from the university maybe be out of date. But we can find one thing common in the successful people, they own the merit of foresightedness, teamwork or other factors which is not university eduction.

In sum, although university education plays an important role in the factor, there are other factors which are more important than it, such as teamwork, foresightedness and so on. University education is quite popular today, and it tends to be a basic prerequisite factor of success because it is possessed by large population. Only the other who can requisite peculiar knack are readily to achieve the greater attainment.

Things are the intermediums that human can be engaged in to adapt to, and to change the world. The nomadic ancestor  are busy with food gathering and game hunters while the only a few modern people are still working in the traditional agriculture, much in the business-related jobs. In my opinion, people have multi-alternative in things, and they can choose a few things as their major, and do these well. This assertion is based on below three reasons.

To begin with, Although people are facing too many choice in one’s job, but the job division is inevitable trend from the human past history, No matter from the nomadic society to Industrial society. Catalhoyuk is the first town in human evolution, some people left from the old clumsy game hunting, and turns to a new areas of crop growing and poultry raising. The latter is a safer and stable source of living. Gradually, some people are engaged in the arts. The emerging job taker is well respected. All these mark the Catalhoyuk a new age society. The same thing can be also seen from the UK’s steam engineer evolution. This movement freed tremendous manpower from the arduous mine and agriculture development, and tremendously propel the modern scientific development.

In addition to this trend, It is also a way to express oneself, and fulfill the value. We can take on various jobs, and have a lot of hobbies, anyhow it is not easy to a top elite of some areas unless people are watching their ball, and devoted to the specific area. Before the Apple got it is world reputation, its founder Steve Jobs was a new fledging who even quitted the university. He had a lot dreams, and used to be enrapture in the Buddhism. He travelled to India to take some months’ experience of Buddhism. As all of us know, Steve did not become to be a Buddhist, he choose the personal computer as his life. Starting his career in the garage, and selling the products to nearly companies, Steve now is still creating the history.

Last but not least, It can greatly improve the technology of a country, increase the wealth of the nation although there are still some disadvantage in specific industries. China and India are two big emerging country, they’re grabbing the eyeball of the world in different ways. China has its advantage in the low salary works and high level of mechanic and manufacture facilities. Its trade balance benefits from manufacture export. Although India’s mean salary is the same low as China, its basic civil building can’t catch up with its rival. India has it own advantage, like the IT service. Infosystem is one of the biggest IT service company in this world. China and India are good at different areas, but these areas can greatly improve the country’s wealth.

In sum, people are facing a lot of choice nowadays; sometimes they may be lost in some trivial things, addicted in vanity or hedonism and can’t find the right path. No matter to fulfill the individual targets or to increase the country’s growth, job division is an inevitable tread are effective method. Only the deeper and rounder division, the better we can solve a lot of problems like starvation, poverty, education and so on.

The lecture is mainly discussing that although people are reading less literature works such novels, plays and poems, people still get a lot of intellectual stimulating from other literature materials, and it is not the reader to blame for the less sponsor for the writer, the lecture challenges what are stated in the reading passage that people are reading less literature works so the metal or spiritual level decreased, and poor reader should be responsible for the writer’s misery.

First of all, the speaker thinks that there are other forms of reading , although they are not belong to literature, but they are still valuable, with high quality and creative, such as science research, political analysis and history. These materials can also stimulate the intelligence, enlighten the wisdom, and well written as the literature. So it is unfair to say that not reading a literature is equal to not reading a good material. In contrast the reading passage believes that only literature such as plays, novels can do good the human metal ability, and benefit the public wealth, and no other materials can reach this advantage. So the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in the reading.

Secondly the speaker discuss that there are some other forms of arts that is not written, like the music and movie. Sometimes these forms are more directly to contemplate the concern than literature does. So it is unwise to conclude that less reading literature, and spending more time on other forms can lead to a lower level of culture in generation. It contradicts what’s stated in the reading that it is bound to dwindle the overall people’s culture when people take some time out of the reading, and spend on the other forms of arts.

Finally, the speaker raises the issue that it is not justice to blame the reader when less investment in the writing, because sometimes it is the author’s fault.
Some contemporary author’s works are difficult to understand, of course less investment will be provided to help them for the book publish. It is unlikely that the previous reader read more books than our does. This point disagrees that it is blame to the poor reader for the less investment demonstrated in the book.

So the contents in the reading passage are totally jeopardized by the speaker and the speaker has totally different ideas on the topics made in the reading.

As to whether it is the only effective way to encourage energy conservation by increasing the price of regular source gasoline and electricity, I have argue with it because the target may not be reached by do so, and there are other more effective way for energy conservation.

To begin with, it is unwise and unfair to increase the price of gasoline and electricity in order to reduce the energy consumption. The cost of living will soar up if the base price of energy source increase, it will cause social problem or even social chaos. The gasoline and electricity price go up when the salary of income keep unchanged, that means the people have less money to spent on the other categories, such as food and beverage, health care, recreation which are crucial to balance the work and the pastime. Once people’s living condition gets vicious, it will cause the social chaos, furthermore, the country’s stability maybe jeopardized.

In addition to the passive effect by following the captioned suggestion, there are other more effective methods to mediate the energy consumption in order to fit for benefit of our generation and descendant generation, such as looking for alternative cycle energy or advocating the less energy consumed productivity. For example, a lot of automaker are developing the battery-charged cars to meet today’s environmental friendly taste. Ford, GM, Volkswagen and even China’s car giant BYD are launching their latest small batch cars. These cars can run for several hundreds kilometers per charge which is quite enough for daily city shuttle bus. Comparing to the traditional gas consumed cars, these new designed cars are releasing zero refuse.

Last but not least,  it is quite advisable for government to step in, and make policy to encourage the company to adopt high efficiency production system which require less energy input while keep the same output. For example, the Ford’s mass production system dwarfed in front of Toyota’s lean production system because the latter is compatible with today market’s saver, small order but fast delivery. Although Toyota’s system can’t reduce the waste to zero emit, it has already greatly improved the energy efficiency in that it encourages non-stop transport and eliminate the warehouse or transport waste.

In sum, I don’t agree with suggested method which encourages the energy conservation by increasing the price of gasoline or electricity, because there are other better and more effective way to support the energy conservation. It is critical for human being to implement the conservation policy, and we’re obliged to sustain our society, and also responsible to leave enough source for our offspring.

The lecture is mainly discussing that the evidence linking the portrait to Jane Austen is quite suspicious, and even the portrait is linked to Jane’s extended family or descendents, it is hardly to prove that this portrait of Jane Austen as a teenager, contradicting what is stated in the writing that the portrait should be the young Jane Austen.

First, the speaker thinks that it is not accurate for the Austen’s family to endorse the portrait to be Jane which is attached in her novel as the illustration. Because when the family concurred with this assertion, it was in the 1882, 70 year after Jane’s dead. Meanwhile none of the family had seen Jane themselves. In contrast,  the writing believes that the family took the illustration of portrait for granted as the symbol of Jane Austen. So the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in the reading.

Secondly, the speaker discusses that the girl in the portrait should be a relative of Jane Austen, it is well known that Jane has a large family, many female cousins. Meanwhile some experts think the subject of the portrait should be Mary, one of Jane’s distant niss. It contradicts what is stated in the writing that adult in the sketch which is well accepted to delineate Jane is similar with the teenager of the portrait just from the character of face appearance.

Finally, the speaker raises the question that the portrait is ascribed to Humphrey only because of style, but other evidence shows it is chronically mistaken, and it should be later date. The stamp on the back of the portrait shows this blank canvas was sold by William. But this salesman didn’t sell canvas until Jane Austen was 27 years old when Jane had passed her teenage time. This point disagrees that Humphrey drew the portrait for Jane when Jane was a teenager.

In sum, the content of the writing is fully jeopardized by the speaker and the speaker has totally different ideas on the topics made in the reading.

As to the content of the television, I don’t agree with the captioned assertion that television only serve the education purpose rather than the entertainment, because this assertion gainsays the nature of the TV, and entertainment tread will be corollary.

To begin with, education instruct is only one aspect of TV, which cover multi-facet of the society, including politics, adventure, business and of course including entailment. When human being created the TV set, it is not only triumph of the modern radiomagneticism technology but also the opening of new information world. With the help of the television, the American Presidency Champaign runs every corner of the continents from the northeast city Dartmouth to the southwest San Diego. Every citizen can listen to the speech of the candidates, judge their governing policy, bid their sacred poll. With the help of the television, the public learn the truth of the Watergate scandal, and force the president Nixon resign. And now TV is still expressing its emphatic thinking to the public.

In addition to multi-facet nature, television is stepping for the entertainment trend in the future. When comes to education atmosphere, It dwarfs in front of the university teaching. But it flatters the public in the entertainment. Who really want to watch the didactic channel if he or she gets back from the hectic work. Although what TV do is to transfer the spirit of actors on the show, not watcher’s, the audience can still enjoy the game. These entertainment channels can mollify the stressed mood, immerge the watcher in an brisk world, and let him forget about the daytime’s hard work.

Finally, TV also serves the advertiser who wants to promote the fame of its product via the wider circulation.  Of course the circulation of the entertainment or newscast are higher that the hackneyed education program, accordingly the advertiser also would impact the TV station to put more resource to the most popular channels like the causal games.

In sum, I don’t agree with the captioned assertion that the only purpose of TV is educative. TV has its own tenor which spreads various topics of life and society. It delivers the elaborate programs to the public, just telling the truth, appeasing and satisfying the audience. These programs are what the real audience want to watch.

Movie is the intermedium which expresses the hidden content or thought to the audience. Deep thinking and entertainment are the two continuums of the movie genres, the former induces the people to contemplate, the latter appeases the public. As to which one is preferable, I think highly of the former because the serious movie can tell us right from wrong, alert the secular to keep conscious and broaden our horizon.

To begin with, serious movies can tell us right from wrong. These movies emphatically advocate the justice and castigate the evil so that they can help pass the ancestor’s lofty flag to his or her offspring. Our generation has never suffered less than our forefathers, but we can still touch the soul of Schindler’s list. The 6 million jury were prosecuted in the holocaust. This catastrophe is well expressed by black and white scene contrast when a girl with a red flower come into the camp, and then she is shot, the corpse carried by the wagon and the red flower still within her hands, we can’t never tell whether this flower is red or the blood tints. Anyhow the justice exist forever, it is touching that the once greedy merchant Schindler are willing to devote all his possession to save 2,000 jury. This movie got highest acclaim all over the world due to its honest depiction of the dark time and telling us right from wrong.

Meanwhile, the serious movies can alert the secular to keep conscious, and never to infringe the boundary of the humanity. Human being should honor the environment and the other species, and live harmoniously within the community. The avatar really make us eye-opening, it opens the Pandora’s Box and lead us to travel in an adventurous planet. While when the avarice rival the humanity to exploit the wealth, the earth set off machines to conquer the aborigines, the history repeats again when the colonist found the new world centuries ago, and killed all the local people which were the last translator to the Maya civilization. Fortunately, the Pandora’s creatures defeat the human to avoid plight again.

Last but not least, the serious movies can also broaden our horizon. These movies are exquisitely directed with systematic scope and encyclopedia content. The BBC documentary of planet earth can be ranked into such movies. These movies impart the public the real living world from the largest northern forest Taiga tundra to the most splendid volcano eruption. People are stunned by such engaging pictures, some of them may never realize our planet so beautiful and miraculous until such movies come to us.
In sum, I totally agree that it is better to appreciate the meaningful movie than the entertainment movies. The good movies are good friends, amiable teacher who
can enlighten our wisdom , purify our soul, stimulate our imagination, impart the knowledge.

The lecture is mainly discussing that although there are some negative effects of the private collector the fossil , but this effect is exaggerating. In fact the benefit brought by the price collecting outweighs the disadvantage, contradicting what is stated by the writing that the all effects of the private collecting are disadvantageous.

First, the speaker thinks that it is the private collector that appeal more interest of the fossil from the public, rather than reduce that. The private collector can spend a lot of money on the purchase of rare or precious fossil even though the small institution or library can’t afford to buy the fossil and then display it to the public. In contrast, the writing asserts that the fossil fluxes into the personal gallery of the fossil collector, consequently the public lose a lot change to appreciate the fossil in the public session, and diminish the interest of fossil. So the lecture has totally disagreed with the view made in the writing.

Secondly, the speaker discusses that it is inaccurate that scientists are lost opportunity to do research on the fossil. Because the fossil is put to the counter of selling, it has to be identified. The only expert who can complete the identification job is the scientist. He or she will do some examination and test to check the fossil. Even before the fossil is sold to the private collector, this fossil must has been passed to the scientist for identification so that the scientist expert won’t miss any importance of the fossil. This point challenges what is stated in the writing that scientists are getting limited to study the fossil due to interfere of the private collector.

Finally, the speaker raises the question that the it is more important and preferable to excavate more fossil with the help from the private collector than to keep fossil buried underground without any damage. Although the private collector will increase the possibility of the fossil break or damage the excavation spot, but the benefit that more fossils are uncovered is more important. The speaker don’t think we should let the many fossils still keep secret, and lying under the ground. This point disagrees what is demonstrated in the writing that the private collecting is not welcome due to its damage to the fossil or the fossil spot.

In sum, the content of the writing is totally jeopardized by the lecture. And the speaker has totally different ideas on the topics made in the reading.
