AD/D    The best way to learn about a foreign country is from newspapers and magazines?
       In the last decades,with the repid growth of technology and economy,many ways can be chosen from to get to know about a foreign country.when it comes to which is the best one,newspapers and magezines ,to some extend ,are considered the best way to achieve it.however, from my perspective, newspapers and magezines , generally speaking, are an effective way to acquire information about a foreign country instead of the best one.

As newspapers and magazines cover a wide range of topics and issues, such as politics ,economy,sports as well as people’s lives. we cannot deny that they offer valuable information in many fields.however,news stories can impossibly cover every aspect of the country,especially its history and oridinary people’s life.moreover,news stories can be full of biases and propaganda.so may you’ll miss the true face of the country though those government controlled tools.so probably misunderstanding exsists if information you acquire just come from reading those one-side materials.

Furthermore, it does not follow that it is the best way to learn about a foreign country.in my point of view,compared to reading newspapers and magazines, i think traveling and ,if possible,living in a country for a while is a better way to get to know about a foreign country.because it’s the first hand experience which means it relies on your own ,direct and vivid impression on this country.Also,you can obtain more information of the country by listening to others’ stories and expriences.either your own experience or the stories told by someone you know cannot be obtained from newspapers and magazines.and what’s more,these experiences can provide you more true information of the country than news stories.for one thing, you can take a glance over people’s real life in this country,and get to know its culture and custom.for another thing,with the interaction between the local people ,you can learn of their opnions anttitude towards things they experienced.that is a really good opportunity to make friends and broden your horizons.

In addtion,in spite of gaining experience on your own,other ways, such as reading books about the country ,make on-line friends who come from the country can also be accurate and effective .Take xiao ming as an example,he is my best friend who is really fasinated by the country-Japan. Also he is a comics fan.he had read a large amount of comics books in his high school years.as a result,he is familiar with many customs and manners about Japanese’s life though the books.recently,I ‘ve got a big news from him-he is going to study at japan.he said that” the more I know about the country, the more I am eager to go there.i believe only I go and stay there,can I obtain what I really want to know.”

     In conclusion,from what i have dliberated above,we may easily discover that this statement has its limitations. it is far away from the best method for us to learn about a foreign country by using those media publications.
