The author claims recommendation that Clearview should vote for Ann Green, one of the members of the Good Earth Coalition, instead of Frank Braun, the member of the local council, for the reason that Frank Braun do not protect environment in Clearview. To support his recommendation, the author claims that the doubled number of factories, the increasing levels of air pollution and the more treated number of patients with respiratory illness in local hospital accounted for the fact that Frank Braun did not protect the environment. As it stands, the argument suffers from several flaws.

First to start, the author fails to provide evidence to show the factories doubled in Clearview released polluted gas or water leading to pollution. It is possible that the factories moved to Clearview did not pollute any water or air, but have a highly purified system of pollution. It is also possible that the factories apply clean energy to produce and have no pollution to the environment. The author provides scant evidence to his assumption that the establishment of the factories caused more pollution.

Secondly, the author's assumption that it is truly because of the increasing air pollution levels that the local hospital has treated more patients with respiratory illness is unwarranted. Perhaps the respiratory illness is the result of the changing weather. Or perhaps compared with other illness, the respiratory illness is easily contagious among people living in Clearview. Without ruling out these possibility, the author cannot convince me that the more patients with respiratory indicates severe air pollution

Thirdly, the author unfairly to assumes that Ann Green, the member of the Good Earth Coalition can be qualified for this new position. The author fail to consider that perhaps Ann Green who may know little about Clearview can publish policy that doesn't suitable for Clearview. Or perhaps Ann Green is not capable of managing the subordinates or organizing team work. Without considering other factors, I cannot agree with the author that Clearview should vote for Ann Green.

Finally, even the environmental problems caused by the policy that the local council published, the author assumes that if Frank Braun is in the position, the environmental problem will increase in the foreseeable future. However, the author fails to provide evidence to verify it. It is entirely possible that Frank Braun will change his policy to protect environment and ensure a better quality of life to the public. Without ruling out other factors, the authors assumption is based on unproved claims.

Simply put, to support the recommendation, the author should provide more evidence that it is new factories caused the pollution and the increasing number of respiratory illness is the result of the air pollution level. To evaluate the argument, I would need more information of the analysis of Ann Green's capability.
