soda，看了你8.18的作文，一点小意见：
First,  Forrest Gump, obviously is a comedy with thoughful- provoking story.  用来举例，说服力不强。
Second, 第二个分论点完全可以再深化一下。

鉴于昨儿的作文又写过了。。所以拜托同组童鞋帮忙改下这篇吧。。。辛苦了~~
话说synica童鞋。。最后还是写了交盆友那个点。。。因为憋了半天。。mental influence 还是没憋出来= =。。。

As the flourishing development has taken place in the field of education, many doctors and scientists are devoting themselves to the education. Thus, they can impart the knowledge and newly developed technology to undergraduates, offering the opportunity for the student to make more progress. While others stand on the opposite ground, they argue that the professors, highly-educated individuals, have paid too much attention to students, and to some extent, ignore the importance of doing research. They are equipped with profound knowledge but do not do research at all, which is kind of wasting human resources. I side with the latter issue. The reason is as follows.

Doing research is a kind of study, professors can promote their own development and the students can benefit from the researching in the meantime. Just as the old saying goes: never too old to learn. Doing research forces the professors to combine what they have learnt before with the newly developed theories and then professors apply these theories to the research, which is a good way for professor to enrich themselves. On the other hand, doing research allows professors to be the top of a subject that they teach and students will obtain overall and profound knowledge in a specific realm

For student, participating in the research is an effective way to combine the knowledge they have learnt in class with the practice, which is very useful for a students further studying. Take me for an instance. Last semester, I was lucky to be a member of research program. At the beginning, I knew nothing about the project. However, with the assistance of professor and seniors, I begun to search the correlative document and did some fundamental work in the laboratory. Although it was very difficult for me to understand the theory I never gave up. What I had learnt is not only some profound theory but also the how to analyze problem I was facing, which I will never acquaintance without this opportunity. Therefore, undergraduates can also benefit a lot from the professor’s research.

Admittedly, professors may be fully occupied by doing research, and to some extent, will be distracted from educating the students. Reasonable as it seem to be, as we all know that professors take no more than five classes a week, and they have considerable time to do research. Hence, professors can make arrangement of their time, ensuring that both of their classes and research can be successfully carried on.

Doing research can make full use of the professors’ time and knowledge, the result of the research may promote the development of science technology. Why not do it? Thus, I strongly believe that professor should spare his time both to educating and researching rather than only focusing on the teaching.
