110415 comparing to hiring famous teachers, school should pay more attention to improve facilities.

As science and technology have developed at a rapid rate, an increasing number of universities have equipped advanced apparatus. Thus, some people claim that school should pay more attention on improving facilities, allowing both professors and students to get more precise data, rather than hiring famous professors. On the contrary, others stand on the opposite ground and argue that teachers play a crucial part in cultivating undergraduates, which to some extent, cannot be replaced. Personally, I endorse the latter issue. The reasons are stated as follow.

I concede that improved facilities enable students and researchers to obtain more accurate results. Furthermore, advanced equipment like multimedia devices makes it possible for professor to show some pictures and video in classes, which to a considerable extent can improve the education quality. Nonetheless, without celebrated professors who have made achievement in cutting-edge science, no one can instruct students to use these hi-tech and hypersensitive equipments. These equipments are just waste of money. In addition an experienced teacher can also make a vivid lecture to students without help of multimedia devices.

An eminent professor, with rich experience, imparts not only specific knowledge but also things can not gain from textbook to students. Take me for an instance. I, with good fortune, was selected as a member of a researching project, the leader professor of which was very famous. Because of lacking of experience and knowledge in specific realm, I failed to get correct experimental results. I felt perplexed and did not know what to do next, even thought about giving up. When my professor knew that, he told me that analyzing reasons that lead your failure was the thing I had to do. Giving up would never be the solution to any problem. Ultimately, I searched a bulk of documents in library about my experiment and tried my best exertion to find out the factors that caused failure. After several weeks’ struggling, I finally got right result which was the first step to my success. Without the help of my professor, I may never embrace the fruits of success.

Students, who graduated from a university with famous professors, will get more recognition when finding a job. A university diploma has been regarded as a symbol of capability in recruiting. Nonetheless, college expansion of enrollment lets employers pay more attention on whether or not the interviewee had followed a famous professor. A recent survey, conducted in top 500 companies, offers a world wide report about the thing that managers care most when recruiting. 70 percent of managers claim that whether or not the employees' have been taught by celebrated professors is a essential part. They believe that an accomplished disciple owes his accomplishment to his great teacher, also a famous professor just like a guarantee for the quality of their employees. Hiring more famous teacher, to a considerable extent, school may have a higher employment rate, which may benefit both the students and schools.

Although, in this hi-tech era, advanced equipment plays an increasing crucial role in education, the role that professors acted will never be replaced. If there is anyone out there who still doubts that professor are of more importance than facilities does, this essay is my answer.

As people have been educated to be patience regardless of what situation they are facing, and taking action at a moment is regarded as a behavior of rudeness and less consideration. Nonetheless, some people argue that in some occasions we should make decision right away confining to the limited time. It may be too late to catch the opportunity if people taking a long period of time pondering. Personally, I endorse the former issue, due to only after a long period of time pondering can we make right decision, a less considered decision may lead to a bad result or even make mistakes that cannot revered.

I concede that people have to make up their mind quickly in some occasions. For example, just like the old says goes that chance are ephemeral, if we do not catch it at a second we meet it, we may lose it. Nonetheless, there is also an idiom that the chance is only for the person who made comprehensive preparation, and the process of making preparation is exactly the time that we are waiting for the chance. It requires long term endurance and secondly, it accompanies many other obstacles and difficulties. There is unfair judgment, mistreatment, people underestimate your abilities and many so on. These are testing time and these are the time we need to be at our toes the most. All we have to do is be patient, and keep doing what we are doing, persevere continuously and remain hopeful of the future.

Getting to know everything clearly before making decision, thus people can make a correct decision. Take me for am example. When I was a freshman in university, I was curiosity about all the things around. Then the students’ union came to us for enrolling new members, most of my classmates went to get an interview for almost all the departments without thinking. On the contrary, I searched the university website to know which department suited me most, after which I made a decision to go to the study department. After a month of working, almost all of my friends complained about how boring the department was and they did not like it at all, which is all due to lacking of previous thinking. But I enjoyed the time working for the study department.

Furthermore, patience allows people to tide over the bottleneck period and finally lead people to success. There are times when people have done everything they can imagine and still do not get the result they want. When people are through this kind of period means they need to calm down and find out what is wrong. Perhaps the timing just is not right. Just keeping patience, people will get the payback soon.

If anyone still doubts that whether patience can be used under any circumstance, this essay will be my answer.

Since the economy has developed at a rapid rate, people earn much more money than before. Thus instead of worrying about the problems of food supplement, people pay more attention on the public recognition. Some people claim that person who seeks public recognition is like a dog chasing his own tail who, when captures it, discovers it is only a tail. Those people finally get nothing after a long time pursuing. Thus they believe that focusing on the money is of more importance.  On the contrary, I endorse that people who care more public recognition can benefit both themselves and society. The reasons are stated as follows.

Admittedly, people need money to support their family. Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist, develops a theory of the hierarchy of needs a pyramid depicting the levels of human needs, psychological and physical. Since people earn more money than before, people's physiological demands, the first level including food and shelter, has been met; people then purse higher level including the public recognition. From Maslow's theory we know that people chasing the public recognition is based on a self-sufficient life. If a person cannot even make himself a living, it is ridiculous for him to pursue the public recognition. Nonetheless, nowadays most people can earn themselves a living. Why not devote ourselves in obtaining public recognition? Things we get from these are overweighing the money.

A person who pays more attention on obtaining public recognition is more likely to have a chance to get promotion. Take me for an instance. When I got my first job after graduated from university, I worked very hard in order to gain the recognition from my boss and other colleagues, working late or even over night to accomplish my task and being polite to everyone. After couples of months’ working, nearly all the people in this company knew that I was considerate and diligent including my boss. Finally I got the position of deputy manager, furthermore, my boss introduced me to his coworkers, which offered me a chance to know more celebrities and learn from them. Public recognition plays a crucial part in one's success, and people should work hard to gain it regardless of money.

Additionally, people may devote themselves to the charity to gain public recognition which has positive effect on society profoundly. Run Run Shaw, a film maker in Hong Kong, launched TVB and grew it into a multi-billion dollar TV empire ranking as one of the top 5 television producers today in the world. Over the years, He has donated billions of dollars to charity, especially the education career. Almost all the universities in china have a building or library that is named after Run Run Shaw. He devotes all his life in charity, which helps him to gain recognition widely, and at the meantime benefits both the universities and undergraduates.

Take into account what have been discussed above. I strongly believe that people will work hard to obtain public recognition regardless money which benefits both individuals and society

People use cell-phone or e-mail, replacing the letter, to get connection with others, and people surf the internet, instead of going to library, to search the information they need. The world keeps changing and many people find it is difficult to move fast enough to catch up with the majority, especially the elder. Their minds still stay in the less development era that to some extent they cannot judge things in a proper way. Thus I endorse that the advice from our grandparents is of little use for their grandchildren. The reasons are as follows.

A computer enables people to get everything they need in a second, which grandparents may think it is not as comprehensive as the information searched in library. With the advent of the information era, all most every medium want to spread out their news and reports in an efficient way, thus the internet is their wisdom choice. Once information is posed on the internet, it can be spread in many parts of the world. Therefore people can get everything they desire through the computer. Furthermore, compared with the internet which offers people latest news, the information in the library is be out of date. Publishing a book or to printing a newspaper takes long period of time to be accessible to us.

Studying abroad offers people an opportunity to learn advanced technology and knowledge, while grandparents may not agree because they think that their children are too young to live in another country alone. For instance, as the increasing number of foreign students being enrolled in American university, many schools have set international students office to offer assistance for the international students. This office just like a rescue station for students from other country, thus students can get the solution to almost all the problems they are facing. Therefore, studying abroad is not as tough as the grandparents’ words, instead even is of more convenience and safety. It isn’t a wise choice to abort further studying because of students’ grandparents’ improper advice.

Admittedly, we can learn the Chinese traditional culture from our grandparents, like being economical. In China, the elder generation prefers to save all their money in the bank for future. In fact, as the rapid development has taken place in economy, people earn much more than the elder generation does, it is well accepted to spend some money on enjoying the life. For example, people, under great pressure nowadays, prefer to take a vocation for relaxing, instead of putting all of money in bank. Not to mention the devaluation, making it unadvisable to save all the money.

Taking into account all these factors, I strongly believe that grandparents’ advice is of little use to their grandchildren.
