关于专业的问题。BME跟bioengineering

我再申请的时候发现很多学校是没有bioengineeing这个专业的。但基本上都有BME。但是我在国内学的是生物工程啊。。发酵工程，微生物工程，基因工程等等。。我感觉这很大不同吧。。

Bioengineering据说是一个大杂烩，有很多新的玩意不知道算在什么分类都可以往Bioengineering里面塞。按照Stanford Bioengineering的话说是“The mission of the Bioengineering department is to create a fusion of engineering and the life sciences that promotes scientific discovery and the invention of new technologies and therapies through research and education”。比如Quake就有做microfluidics，chip之类的。国内的那种“生物工程”也许算是一种中国特色吧？
