1. Do you think it is reasonable to find someone don't speak English as mother tongue to teach English in a English speaking country like Canada?
It is possible to do so in HK since there are not that much people speak English as mother tongue, and thus experience of learning English as a second language is useful. But still, they are hiring English teacher that speak English as mother tongue oversea for this purpose. imagine the case that in Canada.
2. 6.5 is a very weak signal for those whose main discipline is related to English be honest, even you don't have any preparation.
For sure English teaching is different from English exam, but people still expect you to have way higher English skills than average. 6.5 is even below the average of all university student in HK (including all 8 university and all major)
3. GRE will help a bit, but really only a bit.
4. Policy is........something no one knows. But if you want to know how high the risk is, a good method is to do some fundamental analysis. A most important question is: what is the basis for the existence of such policy? If there is a reason (e.g. econ need, shortage occupation, etc...), then things are safe. If something is far from the need of soceity, then it is at high risk.
5. Education is not only about the teaching and English skill, but is also a kind of inherite of ideology. Why a well developed country with a much more open mind soceity are going to hire something from a developing world with completely different education and value?
6. When compared to science student, art students are way more difficult to stay oversea based on their major and job even they are equally good, because:
I/ cultural difference counts less in an science and engineering job.
II/ the supply of STEM student is not enough for basically all developed countries.
(More than before) Equal right between the two gender is based on the (more than before) equal income among them, in addition to (if not instead of) any justified social science theory.
It is not a problem that "接受国内思想较多的女生来说压根没有打算靠自己工作过中产生活", but at the same time they cannot expect to be treated as equally when compared with others.
since it is much easier to have 3rd party involved into a marriage relationship when the couples are in completely two different social class (what I mean here is class, but not income)
