Will education be truly effective when it is specifically designed to meet every individual student’s needs and interests? This question seems to be the one of the most considerable issues in today’s world. In my point of views, to find out the truly effective way for education in this modern society, people need call for a balance between students' needs and interests and the education system.
Interest has no doubt as the most necessary foundation in many study fields. Bill Gates, who is the richest and the most successful person in nowadays, left the Law School of Harvard University when he was nineteen caused by found out the real interest of his life. Gates now successful developed a wide range of computer software and they are been used in every inches of the world. He once said (and I paraphrased): "By putting happiness, honor, success, and wealth in one drawer, I am holding the secret key which is interest for all about them." This example illustrates the point that the position of interest is definitely at a highly significant stage in some fields of the study.
Simply put, without concerning students' needs and interests, education progress might be hardly continued. While an education institution using autocratic teaching style without concerning the individual needs and interests of each student, it possibly will not be the effective way in whole teaching progress, at least, not the helpful one.
On the other hand, pay close attentions for every single student’s needs and interests might be difficult for general education institution. First, the faculties’ time and energy are limited in order to catch every student’s needs and interests. Secondly, even they could find out what their students really want and attracted for, it also hardly to reach the huge amount requires in every study fields. For example, one of my best friends, who is studying organic chemistry in Stanford University at present, he was totally attracted by chemistry while we were both in junior school. However, our school was impossible to offer the particular lab equipments for him at that time. Therefore, to offer specifically designing to meet the individual needs and interests of each student might be a hard work challenge for education institution.
Moreover, not only for education institution, but also for the parents, it is a challenge to meeting the individual needs and interests for the students. As many recent reports, there are plenty parents were catching over attentions for the education for their children. Many of those children were been sending to various different off-school classes in order to develop their "interests" by their parents without concerning real "needs" for the them. Over the aim of specifically designed course for students' needs and interests will become a no-doubting negative effect and needs more attentions in today's society.
Finally, to some extent, specifically designed education course is not likely to apply on a wide range of students. Different students got their different needs and interests; however, the elemental knowledge is always needed here. Further, after graduation of their high school, most of the students might still need educating by general course providers for further career, like various of the universities, the colleges, and the professional institutions existing in nowadays.
In conclusion, without most students’ needs and interests, education cannot truly been effective. Moreover, specifically designing the education, were not possible for every individual student. Therefore, in my point of views, while our form of society is necessary to find out a balance between both students needs and interests and their education progress.
