records from asia & Europe------earth in the mid-sixth century became suddenly cold
a huge volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding with earth----block sunshine----earth cold
no records mentioned bright flash, while asian records mentioned a loud boom------cooling caused by a volcanic eruption

grounding on the historical records from asia and europe on the cold temperature, scientists discovered suddenly cooling on the earth at that time. And the author concludes that a volcanic eruption coursed the cooling. To support this conclusion the author pointed out that it is only a volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding with earth can block sunshine then lead to cold temperature. Moreover, he also provides that no records mentioned bright flash while a asian record mentioned a loud boom. However, close scrutiny of these evidence that the support little credible to support the author’s conclusion.

To be realistic, the historical records from asia and Europe, reliable as it might be, are not sufficient to convince the existence of earth suddenly cooling in the mid-sixth century. The historical records from only asia and Europe does not indicate that all the regions on the earth suffered from temperature dropping. It is entirely possible that only the climate of Asia and Europe changed significantly while that of other area did not. No records survived from other region of the earth, it is unfair to conclude global temperature cooling happened.

In addition, the author unfairly assumes that only a huge volcanic eruption or a large meteorite colliding can cause the consequences as they could create a large dust cloud throughout atmosphere of the earth, block sunshine, and then lower global temperature. Though records from asia and Europe mentioned the dimming of sun and cold temperatures, the assumption is still suspicious. First, even if the discovery is reliable, as for factors contributing to temperature dropping, they might include many apart from the two mentioned above. Perhaps the abnormal moving of the earth caused dimming sun to cold temperature. Second, there might be little relationship between the dimming sun and cold temperature. It is entirely perhaps that they just happened simultaneously. Or perhaps it is cooling significantly and suddenly caused changing in the atmosphere of the earth and finally contributed to dimming sun.

What’s more, the loud boom mentioned by asian historical records could created by reasons rather than volcanic eruption. After all, the records survived from that time could not be enough accurate and rounded, and the author does not provide any detailed information about the loud boom, so it is unwarranted to assume that it is just caused by volcanic eruption. Earthquakes, flooding, lightening, etc could be percept like loud boom from distance. Moreover, no evidence is mentioned in the record that the loud boom was take place with lowering temperature. If the loud boom happened before the temperature dropping, there is no relationship between the loud boom and the cooling. Without ruling out all these evidence, the author cannot convince me the conclusion mentioned above.

In sum, the conclusion is not well supported. To strengthen it the author must provide specific evidence about the volcanic eruption and the scale of that eruption. To better bolster it he should also make more scientific research to exclusive the other causes for the suddenly cooling.

grounding on the historical records from asia and europe on the cold temperature, scientists discovered suddenly cooling on the earth at that time.(此句逻辑有问题,或是对于原题目的理解有问题:Scientists studying historical weather patterns have discovered that in the mid-sixth century, Earth suddenly became significantly cooler. Although few historical records survive from that time, some accounts found both in Asia and Europe mention a dimming of the sun and extremely cold temperatures. 原题目并没有指出科学家得出全球变冷的理由,而亚欧records也是作者的引用,为了支持其全球变暖和太阳变暗之间的联系)

It is entirely perhaps that they just happened simultaneously. Or perhaps it is cooling significantly and suddenly caused changing in the atmosphere of the earth and finally contributed to dimming sun. (本段到底是攻击作者非此即彼的错误,还是攻击同时因果的错误呢?像是交织在一起了,最好可以分开,并各自成段)

What’s more, the loud boom mentioned by asian historical records could(be) created by reasons rather than volcanic eruption. ( 这段的讨论有点本末倒置的味道,可以正面质疑火山喷发的真实性,以及火山喷发是否可以导致dimming)
In sum, the conclusion is not well supported. To strengthen it the author must provide specific evidence about the volcanic eruption and the scale of that eruption. To better bolster it he should also make more scientific research to exclusive the other causes for the suddenly cooling.
