例11：Issue110 "When we concern ourselves with the study of history, we become storytellers. Because we can never know the past directly but must construct it by interpreting evidence, exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit. All historians are storytellers." 8

此题中，最后两句是重点，前面一句是解释。这道题涉及历史研究的主观性和客观性。

从支持的角度看，资料欠缺、个人观点都会影响历史研究的客观性；


从反对的角度看，这一命题过于绝对，历史研究还是要基于事实和证据，不能胡编乱造，另外像时间、人物之类的史实都不带什么主观性。


拔高：主观性和客观性并非完全相斥，而是相互依存，all historians are both storytellers and fact-recorders.


（这三个词 代表了作者的题目分析思路，作为自己题目分析上升一个档次的启蒙指导，细细品）

后面那句虽然只是举例，但它提出了一种情形，在作文中必须对此进行回应。

不同学科教师工资是否应该一致？


如果回答“是”的话，可以写工种、劳动大体相当，不一致可能导致某些冷门学科缺乏教师等等；


如果回答“不是”的话，可以说跟外面的工资有一定的关系，一致可能导致某些热门专业缺乏教师等等。

很好的例子，学习，关于段落结构中，让步该如何进行，不至于自相矛盾


例13：Issue165 "Scandals—whether in politics, academia, or other areas—can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

While agreeing with the speaker that scandals help to draw attention to problems that would otherwise go unnoticed, I found his suggestion that scandals can be useful in any cases a bit over generalizing.

Admittedly, scandals naturally draw people’s attention because of people’s innate curiosity.

However, scandals are not always beneficial to the society.

The above example exposed a shortcoming of scandals. Due to its widespread awareness among the public, excess attention can be given, especially from people who are not really relevant with the matter or qualified to participate in the investigation.

In the final analysis, scandals are double-edged swords. While they can reveal hidden problems, the widespread attention they drew can sometimes impede the investigation of the matter.



这个提纲的问题在于：让步回应的是第二句，however回应的则是第一句，所以对不上了。可以将让步改为：Admittedly, scandals can be useful by naturally drawing people’s attention.（ALEX：这里的第二句步兵重要，只是一个解释，突出scandals的效果）



从上面的例子可以看出，正确的让步有两个特点：


一、让步信号词（admittedly等）与转折信号词（however等）引导的内容不冲突，并且都与全文主旨一致；

二、让步句通常有程度词，避免绝对化，为后文的转折句留下空间。9


常用的程度词有：to some extent, in some cases, certain,one, often, may/might/can/could, if possible...（ALEX：作者这里用的can）

这两天只顾着折腾了 但是单词一直没停 每天再忙都是2New List，25天plan正在接近，希望这周能赶上一天1000+的单词 （想想都恐怖，没有做不到，只有想不到，卯上了）
