7. Some people think university professors should spend more time doing research while others think they should spend more time educating students. What is your view?

As far as I know, now university professors usually focus on either doing research or educating students. Some of university professor choose to major in doing research because they usually can use the research opportunity to earn money. However, from my point of view, university professors should spend more time in educating students. There are some reasons.
First of all, professors are knowledged and experienced, so undoubtly, they are the best group of person in university education. In this way, they can teach students in the more scientific way, which is indeed to cultivate university students’ enthusiasm of learning and satisfy students thirst of knowledge.
What’s more, by educating students, university professor will give the students more profound insight into the academic study because professors usually do some study on educating method and academic projects.
Last but not least, I think professors’ major responsibility is to educating students, so they can lead and guide the university students to do some researches during the teaching process. It’s not only meaningful for students to pursue the further study and study deeply on what they had learn by practicing and exporing, but also beneficial for professors to improve their educating skills, and maybe some talent students will give some inspiration or new idea to them, which will help the professors with their researches as well.
All in all, I think university professors should shoulder their responsibility and spend more time and energy in educating students.（242）

14. Reading：moth飞蛾，总是围绕人造（human made lights）灯光的地方甚至crush into lights。文章给出三个possible explanations；

1. 飞蛾有飞向moon的本领。为了躲避青蛙等predator，它总是往上飞也就是moon的所在方向，所以飞蛾可能误认为human made lights为moon。
2. 飞蛾飞向人造灯或许因为有heat。
3. 飞蛾也许误认为人造灯光是食物源food resource。

1. 如果飞向人造灯是为了躲避predator，那么飞一会儿就得了，干嘛还要围绕几个小时甚至更长。当危险褪去本就可以飞走了。
2. 飞蛾有辨别食物散发出来的carbon dioxide的本领。人造灯没有释放二氧化碳
3. 有些人造灯，例如fluorescent lights散发出来的heat少之又少，甚至少于natura.

The reading passage and the lecture hold opposite views on the reasons why moths always fly around the human made lights and even crush into lights. The passage indicates that it happens because of three possible explanations while the professor in the lecture provides several counter arguments to this view.
In the first place, the passage supports that moths have the ability to fly towards the moon, and they always fly towards the moon in order to escape from the predator such as flogs. Therefore moths maybe mistake the human made lights for the moon and be used to fly around it. However, the professor challenge that it’s impossible because if moths want to avoid away from the predater, they can just fly upside for a few minutes to ensure theri safety but needn’t to fly around the lights for such a long time.
Further more, the professor disagrees with the claim in the passage that moths fly towards the lights because of heat. He argues that some of human made lights such as fluorescent lights sent out few heat and even less than that from nature light.
Finally, although the passage believes that moths mighy mistake the human made lights for food resourses, the professor challenge that it’s not likely because moths is able to recognize the carbon dioxide sent out from food, and what’s more, human made lights doesn’t send out any carbon dioxide.
In conclusion, based on the arguments offered above, the professor clearly identifies the defects in the reading passage and shows that these three factors are not the real reasons of why moths fly around human made lights.(273)
