I agree that education should be specifically (咦,加一个这个词比较好,学习一下) designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, and as a result it will be truly effective. A contrary position would reflect the traditional teacher-centered or score-centered education which having restricted the sound development of our education for a long time. Nevertheless (这里nevertheless不妥吧), I would claim that what I care (加个most好些,不那么淡薄) is not student-centered education, but real serve-education working for the good of each student.
One compelling argument for my view has to do with the fact that the long-lasting traditional teacher-centered education ignores the individual needs and interests of each student and thus proves to be counterproductive for contemporary education (太绝对了吧). According to a recent survey conducted by the Sociology department of :victory::victory:Huazhong University of Science and Technology among six key high schools in Wuhan city of China, seventy percent of under-graduate students (high schools 又 under-graduate students 没搞错吧) said that they were in fear of examination and suffered from several certain mental disorders, such as insomnia, extreme anxiety, and depression. The result of the survey also shows an abhorrence of recent education system. Researchers of educational reform believe that these problems mainly result from traditional education over emphasis on academic remarks and overlooking the development of individuals.
Another compelling argument for my view lies in the fact that education should focus equally on meeting the individual needs as well as on interests of each student. First, As everyone knows, the task of education gives first prioirty to prepare young people for a specific job. Common sense tells us that education status quo pays more attention to teaching students how to get a high remark to improving personal enrichment over job preparation. Thus by specifically designed to meet the personal needs of each student in the future, education can actually defend its fame. Secondly, interest is a best teacher and a direct impetus to everyone for learning. Under traditional education system, a large part of students’ talents were suppressed or buried for ignoring their own interests and hobbies, which results in students’ passive accepted-study. Thirdly, to meet the individual needs must play just as key role as the effort on interests of each student. Both of them are the echo of educational reform and both of them are the interpretation of the essence of education. People who merely stress the latter while ignoring the former fails to gain an all-around understanding about the role of education.(个人觉得这里说理太多了还不如举个例子算了, 还有你的篇幅也太长了吧)
However, the student-centered education in sharp contrast can't warrant an effective education either, and what the society badly needs is a serve-education acting on behalf of the sound development of young person. A case in point is the “Three move by Mencius’s mother”, as a well-known educator in Chinese history, Mencius’s mother didn’t scruple to move house from one place to another for three consecutive times in older to build a fine condition for Mencius’ initial education. Another typical example is also a familiar one. Thanks to Mozart’s father for not insist his original idea that cultivating his son to become a government official but let Mozart develop with his own will-we fortunately didn’t lose an outstanding musician in history. Meanwhile, a serve-education should be "popular education" for making sure that everybody(poor or rich,white or colors,cityship or countryside,etc) is entitled to the equal opportunity to enjoy education.On this realm, China sees tremendous progress in education in recent years.As China Daily once reported(and I paraphrase), by the end of 2004, 93.6 percent of Chinese children are receiving nine years of compulsory education, marking further advancement of China's educational cause. Nevertheless, the old problems in education still exist, such as the gap between educational investment and people's demand and the difficulties in education in rural areas,so there is still a long distance from real serve-education.
All in all, the speaker correctly asserts that it is through specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student that effective education can be achieved. Indeed, emphasizing the interests and needs of every person can balance the divergences and conflicts between the individual and society by eliminating the reckless or blindness and keep the national economy developing steadily.(653)
