09.05.30NA  Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Younger school children (ages five to ten) should be required to study art and music in addition to math, science, history and language.



In my opinion, it is necessary and important for younger school children to be required to study not only math, science and language, but also art and music. The reasons are as follows:

First of all, it is not appropriate for the younger student to take only sciences and language classes. Since they are so young, we haven't known clearly about their talents and their interests. So we should provide them with more classes like music and art to help them find out their interests. Otherwise, we will limit things they can contact and hindering them from all-round development by providing only classes like math, science, which may also drive them thinking that study is all about the calculation right answers and remember important dates or persons, and being tired of going to school.

Second, it is necessary for the younger student to take classes like music and art other than science-related classes. We need to realize that what we need is all-round developmental people, not those who can only do correct calculations and tell what happened many years ago. Computers can do much better than any of us now. Remember that, what is most precious in 21st century? Of course, talented persons, but who are the talented? It is hard to give an precise definition, but one thing is certain that the talented person should have independent personality. How can we expect the children to own independent personality when we provide them only science-related classes and keep telling them
the most important thing is to get excellent grades in school.  

Last, it is dangerous to provide younger school children only with classes like math and science. Suppose Mozart took only these classes, how could he become one of the famous musician? It is important to know that he started to learn playing piano when he was only four years old. Most of us show certain interests in art or music. For example, I enjoy limiting to those classic music. However, Can we expect the emergence of next Mozart when our younger school children takes only math classes? We all know that mental life plays a indispensable role, either for the whole society or for a single person. On one hand, missing of mental life may cause serious results, which can be verified by the fact that most criminals has insufficient metal life. And on the other hand, substantial mental life can help people with their work and life. In fact, many mathematicians claim that music is helpful for their study.

By summarizing what we have argued that, we came to the conclusion that we should and we must provide art and music classes for our younger school children. And sports classes should also be adopted. Ignoring of this will lead to severe results, which we will never want to see.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students should not take part in jobs while they are in universities.

When it comes to the issue that whether students in universities should take part-time job, There are different opinions. Some people think that part-time job will take up lots of time and energy, which does no good to studying, so students should definitely not taking part-time job. However in my opinion, there are more advantages than disadvantages for students in university to take part-time job.

First of all, although students need to spend part of their time and energy on part-time job, this can still be beneficial for his study. By taking a major-related part-time job, he can apply what he has learnt in his job and this will help him get a better understanding of the knowledge. What's more, it can inspire them to learn more when they meet problems that they can not solve now. So he will be more eager to learn new knowledge in classes actively.

Secondly, taking part-time job can also help students learn how to manage his time more reasonably. And this is a basic skill needed when he step into the society. Taking part-time job just provides him such a chance to practice. By effectively utilizing one's time, he can do well in not only part-time job but his study. Moreover, this can also be really helpful in his future life.

Last but not least, taking part-time job can make students more competitive than those who only study during universities. As we all know, learning something and doing something are quite different things. That's why most of the companies will provide training for the new employees. For those who have taken part-time job during universities, since they have working experience, they will be more skillful and can more easily get into the work and work more efficiently. This is why companies prefer this kinds of students. So by taking part-time job, students are also making preparations for their future.

To summarize up, taking part-time jobs can mean better study, better management of time, and even better job. So should students in universities take part-time jobs? Absolutely yes!

Admittedly, one has to make sure other people know about his strength and accomplishment in order to succeed. On the one hand, it is already kind of success to gain others' acknowledgement. On the other hand, by doing so one can get more chances. What's more, others' acknowledgement can even bring more confidence.

Among so many versions of the definition of being successful, being acknowledged by others is an important one. What is one's value to other people and to the society and how can it be evaluated? Generally speaking, one have to be accepted and respected for his advantages to others and the achievement he has reached. That's why being acknowledged by other people can be viewed as one's success to some extent.

On the other hand, appreciated by other people, especially influential people or your employers, is an crucial factor for your future success. When asked about the most important thing when doing business, most people choose reputation. One is actually establishing his reputation when he makes other people realize his strengths and achievement, which will contribute greatly to his future development. There is no denying people will first turn to those who he knows when he have problems to deal with, , which means little chance for those he don't know. For example, when asking about the key for success, a famous car salesman said, for him, the only key to succeed was to get people know him so when they wiould remember him when they wanted to buy a car. Interestingly, they could be proud of buying cars from the salesman because most people knew him. On the contrary, if one cannot get the chance to compete with others, he already lose the game. In a word, getting known to other people bring one chances to success.

What's more, the acknowledgement of others also plays other roles. Everyone wants to be praised partly because they will gain confidence. Similarly, Being acknowledged by others can enhance one's confidence and inspire him to work more positively and hardly, which both contribute a lot to his success.


To sum up, providing that other people's acknowledgement usually brings reputation, confidence, which are indispensable for success in the future, one should not hesitate to introduce himself.

Nowadays, the gap between parents and theirchild is discussed everywhere. Many children complain about their parents andthink parents are out of date and can not understand their child. They wouldnot like to talk with their parents amount their problems, not to mentionasking for their opinions when making decisions. Even though, one shouldconsult his parents about his future, and there are several reasons to name.

A child usually hold partial interpretationto the world due to his lack of social experience, but he tends to think that'swhat the whole world is like. Decision he made, the perfectsolution in his eyes, therefore is usually not so perfect. Two heads arebetter than one, so one should first make enough investigations and get as muchinformation as he can from various sources to help him make the best choice.Among those sources he can utilize, his parents’ opinion should be one of themost valuable and reliable ones

Admittedly, there is gap between parentsand their child. Parents may not understand new technologies at present time,for example, they don’t know how to buy stuff, and they feel uncomfortable withthe the child’s behaviour. However, this will not hinder parents from helpingtheir child make better decision with their knowledge and experience,especially when it comes to an important issue such as the development of thechild in the future. As the old saying goes, the older the wiser. Parents haveexperienced a lot during their past life, and the experience is priceless. Theycan tell what is right and what may be wrong since they may have experiencedsimilar things, and they have learnt something from their own experience ortheir friends’. So, when determining the future, a child definitely shouldconsult his parents and consult them first to seek their help and suggestions.

Moreover, no one cares about a child morethan his parents. The love of parents is unlimited and seeks no reward, Parentswill try their best to ensure their child will own a prosperous future. Fromthe perspective of them, the child is the center of their world, so they willconsider all the issues from the benefit the child. Although many children maynot agree with this, parents are indeed devoting themselves to a betterdevelopment of the child. Therefore, opinions from parents are the mostreliable ones to take when one is trying to make plan for his future.

Of course, children need not and should dowhatever their parents told them to do. Children are encouraged to make theirdecisions independently. However, this should be based on their respect toward parents'suggestions.

In a word, parents can provide childreninvaluable and reliable suggestions on their future development. So childrenshould refer these suggestions instead of deny them from the very beginning.

Do you agree or disagree it is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life?





Nowadays, there are numerous movies produced in a single year. While, when comes to the significance of movies, some people hold the opinion that we should only watch those which can teach us something about real life. However, I definitely do not agree with this. There is no doubt movies which can teach us something about real life are worth watching. However, this does not mean all the movies should serve the same aim. Movies have a lot of other functions.

First, movies also serve the aim to make people relax. Let us trace back to the time when silence movies were produced. Take movies stared by world famous actor Chaplin for example. People would not learn too much by watching his movies. These movies neither told people how to get a better job, nor helped people to earn more money. However, lots of people would like to pay to watch these movies. Why? Because they brought people happiness and freed people from routine life which was difficult to live. It is also true in modern society that people go to the cinema for relaxing, especially after one day's hard work. Therefore, one important function of movies is to help people relax and usually this will not teach us something about real life.

Moreover, there are other kinds of movies from which people can learn something but not about real life. For example, movies that records the history can help people understand what happened at that time in a more interesting way than just reading the books. As we know, reading numbers in books can be boring. And people can learn what the life in other countries or regions is like by watching movies about them. In this way, people need not to fly there so they can save a lot of money. For students, they would like to watch movies from foreign countries also because they can also improve their ability of  using that language. They can kill two birds in one stone.

To sum up, movies have played very important and multi-function roles in our lives. Therefore, people may have different choices to watch different movies based on their purposes.
