总算把第一篇issue写出来了，写的晚了，还有二十天机考，请各位大牛指教
Issue 130
I believe that how children are socialized today heavily influence the

destiny of society. By admitting the importance of socialization, we can see

the importance of the way we raise children. Although I believe that we

could do a better job raising children who can help bring about an even

better society than we share today, I do think that we come a long way and

make quite a progress in raising more responsible children.

As society is formed through shared norms,customs,values and

languages,socializaion of children,which provide them with the habits and

skills necessary to take part in society in later stage of their

lives,becomes the means by which social and cultural continuity are able to

attained. Children could be socialized in activities including spending time

with parents and extended family, playing with peers, getting education in

school, and simply interacting with the extended social networks. Although

also influenced by genes, one’s behavior and personality are basically

determined by how he is socialized. For example, in the slavery era,

children of slave owner were taught in every single aspect of life that they

were better species and the slaves were born to work for them. On the other

hand children of slaves were forced to work for the owners and treated as

the property of owners. As a result, these children became adults who kept

and reinforced the slavery society. With numerous events like this in the

lines of history, we can come to the conclusion that how someone is

socialized, especially in his childhood, determines the destiny of society.

From early civilization in ancient Greece, to the highly developed society

we share now, life is completely different from what our ancestor used to

live. These differences in life owes to the different ways people nowadays

are raised. In middle ages Europe,common children were expected to help the

family earn a living as soon as they were able and didn't have the chance to

receive much education.And mentally they were raised with depression caused

by strict religious rules.In return,they became grown-ups who were in favor

of hierarchy and mentally controlled by the dark religious rulers.In early

20th century,more children were given opportunities to receive education and

raised in a better household,but there still were child labors in factories

and lots of children suffered in wars.While most children nowadays are able

to receive better education,concentrate on growing happily without being

forced to do any labour and live in the society where people treat each

other with respects and equality(for the most part).They tend to become

grown-ups who are skilled in a certain field and treat others with

respects.Thanks to the hi-tech we are using,we have access to places far

away,reach out to people no matter where he comes from,while our perspective

on life also changes with the development of technology.So it is a little

unfair to say that we have not yet learned how to raise children for a

better society,given the fact that we have accomplished so much by changing

the way we raise children.   

By saying so,I don't necessarily mean that we've already learn the best way

to raise children for a better society and it's obvious that we can do a

better job.But when it comes to choosing a better solution,different

cultures collide as raising children is heavily influenced by

cultures.Recently a book written by Amy Chua called "Battle Hymn of the

Tiger Mother" lead to quite some controversies because the differences

methods and values westerners and easterners choose to raise their

children.Easterners raise their children in a more strict way while

westerners approach a way with more encouragement.It's difficult to pick a

winner out of the two methods as they are both effective in certain ways

while flawed in others.So in order to raise children in a better way,it's

fundamental to emphasize on the core values which are benefical for the

society while pay less attention on the specific methods.By doing so,we may

continue to develop our skills on raising children in a better way.

To sum up,the socialization of children is crucial in determining the future

of our society.Despite the fact that we already make some progress in  

raising children for a better society,we still have space to improve our

skills on raising children for a better society.
