130"How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

When we look at the children, there are love and hopes in our eyes. That is because we are aware that children will become the future of our society, country and the world. Knowing it let us be nervous, for having no confidence in raising them very well, though we have been working hard on it for many years.

The growth of children, the constructers and designers of our future world, determines the destiny of society. Everyone has their own dream about the future. For example, we expect the superior students to become the leaders in all fields, while the others who are born with talents of art, music are hoped to create new art conceptions and forms. Not only their parents and teachers, all people are prepared to make the children grow to take over their careers.

Seen from the promoting educational system, we are always concerned about the raising methods and objectives. More parents have learned to cultivate the kids from young age than the past, claiming little kids have potential intelligence waiting to be explored. Is that true? We have no idea at this time, however, we must admit the notion of paying attention to education is a good thing. The school and college are making their efforts to think about better teaching methods, available to any type of students, which are able to dig out every child’s characteristic, urging them to take advantage of their different talents. Even the society changes the attitudes towards young people, such as encouraging rich variety of organizations for the youth. They have no more treated them just as the ones should be taken care of, but as the ones should be given opportunities waiting to be made choice on their own. And there is a point we should know that providing great conditions and circumstances are a continuing effort.

The efforts are clear to see, while the weakness and disadvantages also have to be faced. For shouldering the better society, the young cannot just have fun during their childhood, which has been a long term contradiction. Parents force them to study hard. Schools make them learn all kinds of courses, ignoring whether they like or dislike. However, when they walk out of the gate of college, they catch sight of helplessness of no use of most what they have learned. How does this happen? Does the theory of teaching have something wrong? Or is the blame belongs to parents and teachers for using the inappropriate way? These are waiting to be worked out.

Maybe it’s too strict to say we have not yet learned how to raise the children, but we have to get an clear eye on our situations now. We work very hard on how to teach. We think very hard about the future of the children and the society. However, we must also prepare to walk very hard on the long road leading us to make sure how to raise them so well to bring about a better society.
