这两天连续收到Congratulations!再往后使劲看也没有$，好想盼出个offer,，就是没有！

首先是Auburn,
Congratulations!  We have admitted you to our graduate program for fall term which begins in mid August 2006.  However, your proof of finances is not yet posted with the graduate school - that needs to be completed prior to your I20 being issued.  You will receive official notification by post from the Graduate School and you should begin to obtain your U.S. F1 visa immediately thereafter.  We look forward to having you as a valued member of our department.
一开始就摧钱，真是的！

U of Houston 的更奇怪，用DHL寄过来的，信里丝毫没提financial aid 的事，却夹了两张TA/RA申请表，还悬着了！

郁闷～～～～

个位在ad中挣扎的xdjm，一块努力套钱！！！！

刚刚收到小秘的邮件：Your application was approved and you will be receiving a letter detailing the admission.
就这么简单的一句话，应该是AD吧？根本没提钱的事。看来是不是应该去套教授了？

It sounds like your interests do fit pretty well with mine, so I would
be happy to have you in my lab, that is provided that you are accepted
into out PhD program in Biosciences (Functional Genomics).  We have, so
far, been able to provide financial support for all of our accepted
students in that program, and I expect that will continue.  I believe
that a small amount of additional funds may be required to cover some
of your living expenses, or at any rate to qualify for the current
requirements for entrance to the USA on a student visa.

今天查询UT Austin 的状态说是accepted. 是PhD linguistics, 说要和graduate advisor 尽快联系. 不知道其他人的状态是怎样. 还有, 也不知道有没有financial support. 马上写信吧. 哎.

上星期问说是周一出结果, 果然是出了. 看来偶的推测是对的, 上星期过了系里的审查, 周一是研院的审查.

There is full financial aid.  The university provides full fellowships for the first
year.  After that, financial support comes from a mixture of teaching assistantships and
research contracts.  This is true of all Ph.D.'s.

The first year fellowship is quite useful.  The first semester you focus purely on
courses.  In the second semester, in addition to courses you sign up for a semester of
directed research with a faculty member who might eventually become your dissertation
adviser.  If this semester goes well, you can continue with this faculty member over the
summer and into the third semester, although you may switch if you do not feel the
relationship is going well.

The program provides for a very high level of access to the faculty.  Each faculty member
has 2-4 advisees, and the working relationships with the adviser are typically quite
close.  This is a very special environment.

I will try to send you a more formal confirmation as soon as I can.  But it is my
understanding that "you are in."

研究经历若干, 国际期刊一作 一篇(本科阶段写的).
这次进了, 个人估计还是牛推起了作用, 象我这种成绩水平的人绝对不在少数. 其中一推荐人是原PRINCETON 的副校长, 这个专业还是他介绍的. 估计系主任什么都认识, 正所谓朝中有人好办事.

刚收到的第一个Offer,IIT的，专业MSE
Tuition: MMAE and the Graduate College will directly pay your tuition at IIT for the full-time equivalent of up to 9 credit hours for the Fall 2006 semester and up to 9 credit hours for Spring 2007. The total tuition award is valued at $13,068 for both semesters.
Stipend: MMAE will pay you $1,222 per month for 11 months for a total of  $13,442.
钱好象比较少，不知道这样的在芝加哥能不能混下去？
