People may experience a variety of changes during their transition from a child to an adult. However, there’re three events that almost all the people share during this period, namely, establishing one’s sense of responsibility, obtaining the ability to support oneself, and acquiring the custom to think independently.
Firstly, I believe it is the sense of responsibility that tells children and adults apart. For example, when we were fed by our parents as children, we ate what they cooked, wore clothes they bought us, spent money they earned. Everything seemed normal, because we took it as a matter of course. When we’ve grown up, however, we’re aware of our responsibility to support our parents when they get old. Only when a young boy/girl realizes what his/her responsibilities are can they get the access to the adult world.
Besides, a grown-up should have undergone the process in which he/she is learning to obtain the ability to support oneself. That is to say, an adult has to be economically independent. Generally, there’re many ways to achieve this. For instance, an ordinary teenage need approximately 9 years for primary education and 6 more years for further one, during which they’re studying knowledge and skills necessary for finding themselves a profession. It’s hard to imagine an adult without enough money is able to take his/her responsibilities, exercise his/her personal rights, or even make his/her own choices. He/She, therefore, is not qualified to be called an adult. Hence owning a job means a lot for an adult.
Another characteristic adults have in common is the custom to think by themselves. Children have vague impressions on the world, as a result, their minds or opinions may easily influenced by their parents, teachers or others. On the contrary, adults have formed their own perspective on certain things, persons, or phenomenon, which allows them to think independently obeying their unique value system. In other words, experiencing to learn to critical thinking is essential on the way to become an adult.

最后写的头脑发晕,论证和结构可能不太完善,大家别客气尽管提意见啊!
Differences between children and adults are various. And there’re three defined characteristics that only adults share, namely, sense of responsibility, the capability to support oneself, and handling things independently. Since owning a job can obtain all the three traits, I maintain it is the very event that makes an adult.
Firstly, one’s sense of responsibility is cultivated when working as a professionist. When we were fed by our parents as children, we ate what they cooked, wore clothes they bought us, spent money they earned. We took everything for granted, because we haven’t got any ideas about responsibility. However, if we’re employed by a company, we’ll have to accomplish many things by ourselves, such as paying for taxes, dealing with professional difficulties, taking care of our parents, and the forth. After all, we have financial support for this, and also we have to, for these are all our responsibilities. In this way, sense of responsibility is accumulated. Thus we can be called adults, since it is the sense of responsibility that tells children and adults apart.
Besides, a job makes it possible for a person to feed himself/herself. For instance, when we’re working in a company, we get wage every month for what we’ve done for the company. With those money, we can earn a living, and do other things necessary for adults. It’s hard to imagine an adult without enough money is able to take his/her responsibilities, exercise his/her personal rights, or even make his/her own choices. He/She, therefore, is not qualified to be called an adult. That is to say, an adult has to be economically independent. Hence owning a job means a lot for an adult.
Finally, a job-owner is forced to deal with incidents independently. When we are young, we don’t have to, as we have so many people around that can give a hand when we’re in trouble. On the contrary, everyone in a company has their own business, so we have to handle problems by ourselves. In this way, we can get much experience, form our own perspective among people and phenomenon, and eventually be made true adults who are able to do a job with skill and ease in the adult world.
