It is teachers' s(teachers’) main responsibility to cultivate students to (help them 是学生pursue不是teachers) pursue their academic achievements. There is no wonder that students' s(students’) success at school cannot exist without the instruction and cultivation of teachers. Some people claim that teachers' rewards should be dependent on students' academic performance. Nevertheless, I deem we are not supposed to do it and my reasons are as follows.

First of all, it is not a feasible scale to decide teachers' rewards by measuring their students' academic achievements. Students' success at school (does) not only depends on the careful care and earnest indoctrination of teachers, but to a great extent, lies in their individual endeavor and genius. Take my little sister for example, she is a very naughty girl and lack of self -discipline. So it is not surprising that she always has bad performance in the classroom and gets poor scores. Although her teacher have frequent talks with her and even visit parents to ask for bilateral monitoring, trying to correct her bad behavior , yet the effort of the teacher goes futile and my sister continues her performance. So it is an unfair treatment to teachers if their rewards are determined by students' academic performance, given that teachers have already made the biggest effort in their teaching.

Also, if teachers' rewards become connected with students' performance, it may lead students to be struggling in the burdensome academic life, ignoring the development of several essential qualities. In most cases, grades, to some extent, are representative of students' academic attainments. In fact, whether a student has done well in one subject mainly depends on his or her ability. For example, if the demand of a course is beyond my ability but my teachers require me to get a good score so that they can get access to a comfortable salary, I may be compelled to spend all day long studying it. In fact, apart from acquiring knowledge, I still need to learn how to communicate with others, (and) how to develop interpersonal relationships, which is basic and critical in future career. So if teachers are release from the rule that the salary is related to students' academic performants(performance), I deem teachers would never put too much emphasis on the pursuing of good marks.(这个还是说学生有更多时间去做别的事情好,毕竟高分数还是重要的)

To sum up, given that teachers' instruction is not the only factor attributing to students' success at school and too emphasis on good scores deprives students of the development of some essential qualities, I am convinced that teachers' salary should not be determined by students' performance at school.

感觉这篇写的确实挺不错的。

創意(being creative)是否比計畫(planning carefully)更能find the best solution to a problem
1in most cases, being creative should be advocated for the simple reason that it is always regarded as an unexpectedly feasible way to solve problems.

Also, from the version of history, it is human creativity the propels the advance of the world, so people should not stop their creative thinking and practice to solve problems they encounter

Being creative is a precious gift God ever endows humans with-that is an old western saying. We value and pursue the character of being creative because it is what humans turn to for finding the best solution to a problem they encounter. Although some people claim that it is a detailed and careful plan that leads to the perfect solution to a problem, yet I insist on my opinion and my reasons are as follows.

First of all, in most cases, being creative should be advocated for the simple reason that it is always regarded as an unexpectedly feasible way to solve problems. On the contrary, following a given plan may push people into a state of stalemate. For example, Bill's web ,collecting family photoes all over the world , is now the most hot and popular one on the internet, acquiring tens of millions of clicks every day. What is the secret of his success? He was once a computer programmer for a New York company, but lost his job due to this year's financial crisis. If he continues his plan and he would find another similar job. But comes out a inspiration to him one day and he began to establish a web for collecting family photoes to express happiness and harmony. So Bill' s creativity provides him the best solution to his problem of earning a living. We should be in big favor of being creative and try to get rid of the control of stiff plans.

Also, from the version of history, it is human creativity that propels the advance of the world, so people should never stop their creative thinking and practice to solve problems they encounter. Every critical revolution and transformation in human society is connected with the impetus of people's creativity and innovation. For example, the emerge of internet ever changes the way of people's lives and brings about more rapid and significant transformation to the whole world. Our ancestors would absolutely never imagine their generations are using the internet to attain a large amount of information and chat with their friends just facing a small screen. So when modern people appreciate the benefits from the internet, they should not forget the internet is also the product of human creativity and innovation ; yet, biding by a given plan, we would exchange information by letters or telegraphs. So we should always be aware of being creative and try to use innovation to find the optimum solution of a problem.

To sum up, given that being creative is always a feasible way to solve problems and innovation is seen as a forceful impetus in the progress of the society, I convinced by the notion that as individuals, we should turn to our creativity for solving problems.

小狗的8.22作业
First of all, in the lecture, the professor admits it used to be a sever drought that has affected different areas in the world.  However, this disaster may not affect the area of Chaco Canyon where the Anasazi were living. He takes the fact that some tress in this region have survived for more than one thousand years as his proof, for if the drought happend to Chaco Canyon, these trees would have been extinct. So the professor disgrees with the opinion of the passage.

Also, in the lecture, the professor thinks that it is the irrigation system such as dams and canals that indicate that the Anasazi were well aware of the problem of water shortage and learned to store water to irrigate their crops such as beans. Meanwhile, the professor says that the Anasazi used to store food to resist the drought . So the professor disgrees with the point in the passage that the drought drove the Anasazi to leave their hometown.

Finally, the professor holds the idea that the drought migh be a hypothesis and other reasons should be taken into account. The Anasazi migh be forced to leave abruptly because they were attacked be other tribes, or affected by diseases or the overuse of fameland. So there is no position to comfirm that it is the drought that led to the vanish of the Anasazi.

To sum up, according to the three proofs cited by the professor, the conclusion that the Anasazia were compelled to leave due to the summer drought is not convincing.

小狗的8.22作业
(有个简洁的开头段比较好,一句话说the articles。。。however, the professor casts several doubts on it.)
First of all, in the lecture, the professor admits it used to be a sever drought that has affected different areas in the world.  However, this disaster may not affect the area of Chaco Canyon where the Anasazi were living. He takes the fact that some tress in this region have survived for more than one thousand years as his proof, (从这儿断成两句比较好,不然这句太长了)for if the drought happend to Chaco Canyon, these trees would have been extinct(用得不准,extinct是指一个物种都没了,用died比较好). So the professor disgrees with the opinion of the passage.+ j9 I* d8 j4 p5 j$ l, w

Also, in the lecture, the professor thinks that it is the irrigation system such as dams and canals that indicate that the Anasazi were well aware of the problem of water shortage and learned to store water to irrigate their crops such as beans. Meanwhile, the professor says that the Anasazi used to store food to resist the drought . So the professor disgrees with the point in the passage that the drought drove the Anasazi to leave their hometown.( d$ Q- f1 D. G7 O  S% K8 {

Finally, the professor holds the idea that the drought might be a hypothesis and other reasons should be taken into account. The Anasazi might be forced to leave abruptly because they were attacked be other tribes, or affected by diseases or the overuse of fameland. So there is no position (enough evidence 比较好)to comfirm that it is the drought that led to the vanish of the Anasazi.6 ]. t+ B, F3 G9 B9 B

To sum up, according to the three proofs cited by the professor, the conclusion that the Anasazia were compelled to leave due to the summer drought is not convincing.

Hardly could we deny that it is teachers' responsibility to impart knowledge to students and make them become informed and knowledgeable individuals. However, I deem that it is more important for teachers to spend more time in helping students build up their confidence than just to instill knowledge. My reasons are as follows.

First of all, teachers' job should be far beyond the most fundamental task- imparting courses and it is more indispensable to help students establish confidence. That is because confidence is a vital contributor to students' success at school and in society. For one thing, once a student set up strong aspiration and belief in mastering his or her courses, he or she would definitely study with full initiative and enthusiasm, which is beneficial for their academic achievements. Take me for example. Now I am prepared for the IBT examination. Th fact is that I am very poor in English listening and have to ask my English teacher Susan for help. Luckily, Susan is greatly competent in the instruction of my listening skills. Most importantly, she passes a belief on me that only coward people flinch in front of difficulties; confident and brave people will meet the challenge and then have the possibility to win the success. So I am very confident in my listening now psychologically and believe I will perform well in the examination. For another thing, in most cases, a person possessing confidence is to own a winning personality. It is more possible for such people to own a big circle of friends and even perform a dominant role in it. In this manner, the ratio of success will be increased due to the support of friends, especially in society. So confidence is so critical to students that it is necessary for teachers to help build up students' s confidence.

Also, students should develop confidence from an early age, so it is a critical period that necessitate the involvement of teachers. It is well known to us once students have missed the establishment of confidence in their teenage stage, it is actually hard for them to make up for it when they grow up. For example, a newspaper once conducted a survey about what is the secret of your success. Interestingly, most answers from subjects included that they built up confidence from an early age. So teachers have to bear the critical responsibility to help students set up confidence.

To sum up, given that confidence is considerably important for students in their success at school and in society and the establishment of confidence is a process that should start from an early age, it is more significant for teachers to spend more time in helping students set up confidence than imparting knowledge.

综合practice 3
In the passage, scientists ever criticizes the giant-impact theory about the formation of the Moon from three aspects. However, in the lecture, the professor deems this criticism is actually unconvincing by providing the following evidence.

First of all, in the passage, scientists questioned the theory for if the Earth had been collided hard enough, the powerful impact would leave a huge mark on the surface. However, no trace of the impact has been ever found. The professor cites it is true that we have not found the trace. But he thinks that the collision happend nearly 4 million years ago, and the trace might be erased by nature. For example, the rock places of the Earth might struck each other and change the map of the planet. So it is probably that there ever existed a collision trace, which casts doubt on the first argument of the passage.

Also, the professor mentions that the hight temperature caused by the giant impact may evaporate the volatile substances like water in the Moon rock. So he makes this forceful evidence to question the second argument of the passage that the rocks on the Earth and the Moon are different.

Thirdly, the passage uses the evidence that the density of the Moon is much lower than that of the Earth to cast doubt on the theory. However, the professor cites that it is a sensible theory because the Moon came from the surface of the Earth, not the core. So it does not make sense to make a comparison between the density of the Moon and the Earth. Therefore, the professors manages to weaken the untrust in the theory mentioned in the passage.

So, according to the three evidence the professor provides as strong points to contrdict the criticism in the theory of the passage, he believes that it is a convincing theory based on scientific data.
