It is the artist who created great pieces of work. It is the critics who make the arts well understand and appreciate by the public. In fact, the artist and the critic are not two mutually exclusive element, they are intertwined with each other.

The great pieces of
distinguished work serves as invaluable treasures to our society, by which the artist express and represent their emotions , imaginations, values, tastes ,through which they reflect the hidden ideas and the reality of their era . The novel, Uncle Tom's cabin published in 1852 and produced by Stowe, reflect the desire and dream of freedom and liberty, which ultimately alter the attitudes toward Africa Americans and slaves. Another case in point is Van gogh , whose work express the misery and poverty of his time from miners in Belgium.


In turn, the critics can evaluate the artist's work in a more professional way, and that often be regarded as authority of the judgments. Somehow the creations of the arts are regarded as a subjective channel, while, under most circumstances, what is less possible to recognized is that, in fact, the examination and reviewing of the arts, as done by critics, is an recreating of their works in their subjective way .Diverse though their works are, their works share the same basis of the subjective intuitions of humanity.

The assessments from the critics can help people get a better understanding and appreciation about the pieces of arts. Imagining without the critics, many invaluable treasures in the human culture will disappear gradually as the time passed. Mona Lisa, the mainly painting of Leonardo da Vinci, is reveals the reviving of self-consciousness in Renaissances. The sculpture Venus shows us people nobody is perfect and it is that make the world perfect as a whole. All these assessments and evaluations provided by the critics serve as a limelight to inform the beauty hided in the arts.

In addition, the critics, to some extent, serve a positive impetus to the progress of the artist.
Take
Director Bay for example ,the Pearl Harbor which considered as his worst movie of him by the critics for the excessive explosion and distortion of the history, when he receive the critics’ assessments he make some improvements in his later work-Transformer 2,which is better than the Pearl Harbor.

Some times, the critics may fail to offer proper assessment and might mislead the public. Some outstanding arts will be covered up. The critics, on certain occasion, may be influenced by many other forces such as the government, the movie company, the region and so on. It means that inevitable though the assessments offered by critics are, the judgments and evaluations made by ourselves are also significant. To get a better understanding and appreciation, combining the critics’ assessments together with our own evaluation may relent a better effect.

In some sense, the artist created the greatest works of our human civilization ,which represented the prosperity and development of our culture and regarded as concreted history. Nevertheless, the critics make these excellent works understand and appreciate more availability by the public.
To get a balance between and cooperation of the critics and artist is a proper way by which our civilization, culture and creativity will sparkle in the long history of the future.
