To Karl Marx, one of the greatest philosophers, practice is the basis of man as Man. From Marxism we can learn that practicing is the one and only criteria to testing truth. However, taking merely practical point of view can not ensure us success. Besides, before taking a practice people should make deep consideration which serves as the guide in the way to success. Therefore, neither merely pragmatism nor idealism can guarantee success. One should make a combination with them.

Success is made of a series of operations, among which practice occupy the very part. From the voluminous materials of the world greatest success, we can tell that no achievement can be made without practice. Merely idealistic view can only result in a day-dream. If Bill Gates didn't take an action that quitted school when he formed the idea to work on windows system, we can not enjoy the convenience which windows operating system brings to us. If Tomas Edison didn't do so many trials on the lap material, we can not have such plentiful entertainments at night. To this point, success has made of a series of hard endeavor which comes along which assiduous practice.

However, merely pragmatic behavior is not enough for reaching success. In the education area, students seem to be the pragmatists whose ultimate goal is to pass a exam. However, cramming for exams can not provide students with any useful knowledge. Learning is a process which needs continuous attention and hardworking. Only through the sincere eagerness for knowledge can a student acquire the real skills and knowledge which serve as the originally motivation study. In business world, it is plausible that pragmatic behavior can result in short-term benefit. However, if all the member just focus on the short-term profit that are lack of the sense of future plans, the company will end in stagnation and doomed to perish. When it comes to political arena, the leader's pragmatic goal seems to satisfy the voter which can bring them another 3 years of tenure. However, if the leader lacks the basic notions of an ideal society, the country might end in a chaos. All of the examples mean to demonstrate the basic truth that merely pragmatism can not bring any good to any field.

Therefore, only though the combination of idealistic and pragmatism can there be success. Idealism serves as a force which lifting our spirit and intrigue us to achieve the ideal fearless. And it also acts like a guide in our way to success. During the thinking, we can figure out what we truly want in our inner mind. On the other hand, practice makes it possible for people to pursue the success.
