Do you agree with the following statement? Children should play sports only for fun, and should not attend competitions and contests.
In my opinion, children should attend sport competitions and contests because sport is far beyond fun. Only through competition or contest, can children realize the meaning in sports and this also provides precious experience physically and mentally. First of all, sports can keep fit is a household word. Physical exercise will strengthen our body which is the best way to be healthy. But only continuous exercise works. All parents would like to see their children growing up healthily. Health is absolutely more important than fun if we come over to what sports would bring to our children. But keeping exercise everyday is impossible to be funny because perseverance plays an important role, especially for children who are lack of self-control on focusing on one thing. Besides, only through comparison can we know the outcome of our exercise. Attending competition and contests is a good way for children to reevaluate themselves and better understand their strengths and skills. Through communication with their competitors, a child would know many other children who involve in the same sport with him or her. This provides perfect opportunity for them to exchange ideas and experiences as it will benefit a lot to their self-improvement. Furthermore, they will find this method is also useful in other aspects out of sport, like their study and work and even their life. What is also worthy of noticing is that most of the time sport needs teamwork in competition. Cooperation outweighs personal skill. In World Cup 2010, German beat down Argentina without any star players. How to make the team function well is important as a member or a leader. As children grow up, they will participate in many kinds of team for study or work. They might be a member or a leader. How perform well? Self-experience in sports will lead them to the answer. Meanwhile, it might be funny. But teamwork will be the thing impresses us the most. To sum up, sport is not only for fun but also keeps children healthy, especially in a competition or contest which will give children insight to themselves and teamwork. Children will benefit from competition for personal development physically and mentally. So they should be encouraged to take part in contest rather than playing sport for fun. 综合: TPO13 In the lecture, the professor refuses to support the statement in the reading passage. She believes that the benefit from private collectors outweighs the disadvantages and she discusses the points made in the passage one by one. First of all, the professor thinks those fossils will be presented much more to the public rather than declined exposure. When fossils purchasing in the market starts, anybody can by them like schools and libraries. So people will have more chance to see fossils in this way. Besides, all fossils must be test and identified by scientists so that people can know the value and put them into the fossil market. Therefore, scientists won’t miss out any precious fossils. On the contrary, there will be more fossils pass through their hands. Last point about the damage made by untrained collectors on fossils is also less significant than the amount if the discovery by those collectors. With the help of them, much more fossils will be found as well as the clues for fossils location because more fossils are always surrounded. As a result, more fossils and data will help scientists get more information in fossil research. |
