With the development of the society, our technology seems to focus more and more on personal life. Numerous products such as microwave, （逗号去掉， 有个空格就行了 microwave oven）oven or refrigerator have made our life much easier than before. It would be no doubt that our life will be even more convenience than what it is now in 20 years. Thus, when come to the question that related to the time people will spend on food preparing, I certainly agree with the statement that people could spend less time in preparing food or cooking 20 years later. 7 b/ N2 I! x2 J0 U% h" M

First of all, the advancement of new technology makes it possible for us to free ourselves from food preparing and cooking. People’s life is becoming the core concern to the scientists who are responsible for development modern technology.(这句话很模糊，需要修改下, 可我说不好怎么改，真抱歉，想了半天没想出来。。) In fact, thanks to the modern technology, our life is being more convenience than ever before especially in food preparing.(貌似convenience 这个词用的频率太高了，可以考虑换种说法) For example, the invention of canning and refrigerator make longer food preservation possible. Also, the invention of microwave gives us a choice to heat our food fast. What’s more, you can find almost all kind（kinds） of microwave food including pasta and pizza which can be done and ready to be served（ 有点罗嗦了，ready to be served 去掉吧） after just 2 minutes’ reheated （heating就可以啦） in the microwave.

The fast food market is still growing in an exponential rate. It won’t be hard for us to image the easy life 20 years late.

Second, the adding pressure on our burdens requires us to spend more time at work. In fact, the development of life technology, which conveniences（ facilitates） our life, is a requirement of the advancing society. For instance, as a student who is about to step into the society, we are now suffering a greater pressure than before. The student number has almost been trebled while the jobs offered are almost the same. We have to spend every time possible to work in order to excel. Thus, the time spare from food preparing is precious. When the competition becomes fiercer 20 years from now, people will never hesitate to save time in every possible means. Nowadays, more and more people are becoming rich through heritage or lottery, which comes fast and requires no effort to obtain. This sudden money frees those people from work. Though many people may agree with the opinion that those people who do not work after they get a huge amount of money are the happiest people in the world, I, on the contrary, think they are actually not happy if they don’t work at all. Persuasive evidence will be presented as the following.
First of all, working is an important way to demonstrate one’s ability. As a human being, the most advanced creature in the world, we need something more than food and water which could make us survive, acknowledgement. We want to be acknowledged by showing our ability. Working is one of the most important ways to achieve it. For example, Bill Gates, who was once the richest man in the world, was already rich before he had Microsoft. He could have stay at home and wait to inherit his parents’ money. But he did not. His success in career had shown the world his ability and he also got the thing he wanted, acknowledgement from the world. Money is not everything. Achievement is among the things that it can’t buy.
Second, working is also a way to fit your self into the society. Human are also social animals, we live in groups. Every individual contributes themselves to the groups to maintain their position in it. If you choose not to work, you will find yourself be excluded. For example, landlords in old China were the ones who had money and did not work at all. It seems that their life was happy. But when the revolution had been raised by the farmers, they were the first ones to be exterminated because they had already been excluded from the major group of the society.
In conclusion, we, as an advanced social creature, need to work in order to obtain the self-realization as well as acknowledgement from other social members. What’s more, while the majority of the society might feel unhappy because they have to work for money, the ones who do not need to do so and can work purely for themselves is actually the perfect status of life. Nowadays, students are all busy studying the course related to their major in order to prepare them better for the future work. Under this situation, it would certainly cause many debates on the question that, whether or not every college should learn about foreign culture. However, I firmly hold my point of view that every college student should learn foreign culture.

First of all, the world is becoming smaller and smaller which means the business will also becoming more and more internationalized. In order to excel in the future competition in the society, it is really important to be multi-culture person. For example, my students are now learning English pretty hard because they want to work in an American company and hoping to get the chance to be sent to work in America. But, not all of them could success. To work and cooperate with people who do not share the same culture with you, multi-language skill is far from enough. Multi-culture ability is the very thing one need to successfully fit in others’ society. Thus, for college students who are seeking more chance to go abroad, they should learn foreign cultural in college.

Second, learning foreign culture could help one know his own culture much better. Only when you put your native culture in the whole picture can you find out the unique characteristic it possesses. For example, it will not strange to hear someone claiming that the world are becoming the same and out culture are losing its own uniqueness. But most of the time, those speeches are not persuasive for most of the person, because the claimer does not even know anything about foreign culture. Instead, people are more will to listen to someone who is familiar with American culture telling us how different our culture is from theirs and how important it would be to preserve our own culture.


As a conclusion, college students need to learn foreign culture not only if they want to experience their life in other culture but also for the one who is willing to protect his own culture. Based on the solid facts stated above, it would be safe for me to draw the conclusion that every college students should learn foreign culture.
