然而群众研究资料比较少，很难直接进行群众研究。
研究少数精英能了解他们周围群众的情况。

According to the statement above, thearguer seems to suggest that when we study history groups should also be paidattention to because they are history makers, to which I agree the most of.Furthermore, I hold the opinion that we could have emphasized on both of themfor several facts which will be mentioned later.

In any historical affairs, elites werealways the leaders that headed masses to push forward theadvance of history, such as Napoleon Bonaparte, who established FirstEmpire of France, George Washington, who is the commander of the ContinentalArmy in the American Revolutionary War, Kublai Khan, the leader who unified Chinaand founded the Yuan Dynasty. The sequence of examples illustrates the pointthat individuals who are wise, brave, famous always processed history.

Nevertheless, without the boost of groups,individuals can rarely have achievements. As a proverb says, “Unity isstrength.” Even one was the essence of groups, his ability is weak thangroups’. Imagine that without peoples’ supports will Kublai Khan unified thewhole Chinaby himself own? It is impossible. More seriously, he might be flooded by thetide of history, and no one would know him. Thus, we can arrive at a rationalconclusion that both individuals and groups are important in history affairs.

However, it is the fact that groups’material is less than individuals’, May be most of the history recorders have atendency to record elites’ story rather than that of groups’. Theclassification of The Records of the Grand Historian, which was also known inEnglish by the Chinese name Shiji, and was written by Sima Qian who might themost famous man in the ancient realm of history, is according to figures butnot groups. And a common person was not mentioned at all. Therefore, it isdifficult to directly study groups with groups’ material.

Luckily, we can infer peoples’ situationthrough the individuals who were related to them. In fact, heroes in history alwaysachieved goals as societies expected. My history teacher in college said, “Itis a way that to build the social environment from analyzing a hero” Heroes arerepresentative of peoples. Although there is a little material of groups, wecan get the attached information from famous individuals.

To sum up, from what has been discussedabove, we may draw the conclusion that the way placing much emphasis onindividuals does not imply that we have forgotten history makers. It is aspecial method to study the society in a certain period of time.
