History is a mirror. Learning from history makes one wise.
The statement above shows a narrow sense oncomprehension of history. Studying on history values not only when it relatesto daily life, but also when meets time limitations. If anything, every aspectof history is relevant to our daily lives.



Thestudy of history values in many ways.



    The study of geoscience answers where and how universe and human emergent.From the day we born, we keep asking who we are and where we are from. Thoughit seems like philosophy problems, it has scientific answers. Evidence ofhistory helps scientist figure out those questions. When untangle thoseconfusions, we feel safer and more of existence.



Bystudy of predecessors’ achievement, new technology and innovation could be madetoday. The development of science is due to improvement and accumulation ofexisted and existing one. Let the invention of electromagnetic wave forexample. First, Oersted discovered that electronic field can generate magneticfield in 1820 and Faraday discovered that magnetic field can generate electronicfield in 1831. Then, Maxwell predicted the existence of electromagnetic waveand built Maxwell equations, which is the basic theory of electromagnetism. Finally,Hertz experimentally proved the existence of Maxwell’s electromagnetic wave in1880s. Every little improvement is based on predecessors’ work and those littleimprovements together make a big different.



       Introspectionis kind of studying the history for individuals. The analects of Confucius,said "I introspect according to three aspects everyday: did I try my bestto help others; was I dishonest to friends; did I review teachers teach."Confucians believe this is the way to be a better man. Introspection helps uslearning from what we have done. By self-criticism and self-recognition, we'llregulate our behaviors in later life, then we can approach to perfect day afterday.



     Accordingto examples of history’s value above, it seems that study of history onlymatters our daily lives, but there are much more merits of study of history inthe following discussion.



    Noticingthat studying history helps predicting future besides dealing with present, werecognize a more comprehensive understanding of history study. Without histrionicdata on weather and climate, weather forecast can’t be produce thoughmeteorological analysis is developed. Without acknowledging the impact of humanbehavior on nature, we can’t realize the urgent desire of environmentprotection. Moreover, science means an ability of prediction. Since studyingthe history allows the development of science, it values beyond daily life.


The way westudy history reveals the profound value of studying history as well. Historyas one of compulsory disciplines was studied every single day besides when one comesacross troubles in daily life. We learn from ancestors’ failure and success inhistory. We adopt their strength and try to avoid their shortcomings. This isnot a simple activity like solving current problems, but to learn from thepast, analyze it, make forecast, combine with reality, and try to avoid the badin future.


Consequently,due to analysis and examples mentioned above, which sometimes intertwine toform an organic whole and thus become more persuasive than any one of them, wemay safely arrive at the conclusion that study of history has abstract andprofound meanings beyond daily lives that lighten the future road.
