Do you agree or disagree that a teacher who is serious and strict is more efficient/ effective than a teacher who is humor and easygoing?

Teachers, as one of the most important tutors, teach us many things not only during our school years but also after graduation. It is sure that everyone must have his or her favorite teachers. I remember once I asked one of my friends, Sukey, the question what kind of teacher did she like best, the restrict one or the easygoing one? Surprisingly, she told me that she loves strict teacher who can really bring her some useful knowledge compared with easygoing teacher. From my personal perspective, on the contrary, I prefer teacher who is easygoing.

First and foremost, an easygoing teacher is like energy for me to get a high score of a certain subject. On one hand, an easygoing teacher helps students focus their attention during one class, making an atmosphere which good for study. In my country, the length of one school class is at least one hour, driving many students crazy and leading students to have a nap in classes. But teachers, who are humorous and easygoing, may tell students something else like an interesting story, acting as a small and informal break for students and drawing students’ attention to classes instead of distraction. On the other hand, easygoing teachers are likely to attract more students asking questions about the subjects; restrict teachers, however, are likely to stop students asking them questions. So, easygoing teacher is a key element for students to be success in schools.

In addition, students, especially nowadays due to the high-speed of every day life, suffer from a lot of pressure not only from parents, but also from schools. When we talk about pressure, we frequently come up with the idea of mental problems, which are harmful for students’ further development. In China, for example, students, typically high school students, have to overcome high pressure. They have to finish a large number of homework on time, have to go to school without almost any break day, and even have to study till 2:00 in the morning. However, having restricted teachers can give students more pressure, which may be in the end drive them crazy.

Last, but still important, is that many of our characteristics, such as humorous, are learn from teachers. Quality as humorous will lead to success. Sometimes, people find it is difficult for them to get promotion no matter how hard they’ve tried due to lacking of certain qualities. But where can we learn these qualities? I think teacher is a good resource.

In sum, I feel that, as I am still a student, teachers’ behaviors influence students’ qualities and even students’ future. Considering what kind of world are we in, we will finally find that teachers who are humor and easygoing are better.
