How children are socialized todaydetermines the destiny of society.
Unfortunately,yet we have not learned how to raise children who can help bring about a bettersociety.
大纲
怎样才能让儿童被社会化；
决定better社会发展还有别的许多因素，不只是儿童社会化这一点。
哪种才算是better 了社会，下个定义
根据这个定义，现在的情况如何。
Plausible as thestatement may be , the author put too much emphasis on the role of children insociety, and their socialization part in the growth.
Indeed, the socialization is not the onlyfactor which may contribute to the society at all.
Considering the second poor statement, withscarce evidence, it’s not fair to give a hasty generalization that we have notlearned how to raise children. Admittedly, the childrenshould acquire some skills before engaging in the social affairs.
I concede that cooperation, effectivecommunication and competition will be conductive to their future lives.
Without those basic skills, the whole societyhas to suffer a low efficiency and poor productivity.
The real story of wolf girl will illustrateit.
A missing girl happened to be pickedup by a wolf, with strong sympathy, the wolf raised the girl instead of killingher.
After several years, the two werefound by people, they were astonished at the girl’s behaviors such like walkingwith her four limbs, talking to wolves with howling.
She is at a normal intelligence, but shecould not survive in society unless after some special training from thestart.
This just confirms the importanceof one’s social skills. However, socializationis not the only factor to determine the destiny of society.
The economic level, military strength, eventheir leader’s diplomatic means will influence the nation’s destiny.
It will be such a heavy burden if we only putit on those fragile children’s shoulders.
Now the tense relation between North Korea andSouth Korea just verify my point.
No matterhow socialization those children’s are in North Korea, once the war broke out,their power are weakened.
The interestof the entire nation will always be the priority.
Thus, the author’s first statement isconvincing at all.
With a poor basis, itis hard to acknowledge the author’s following judgment. Second, it isambiguous to say whether the children has benefit the society or not.
We may first define the “better” concept.
If the better term means the society cantolerant more different ideas or endorsement, can have a better respect towardhuman and animal rights, can keep more old and jobless people with more dyingpeople healed, then those young have been building such a better society in thepast few decades. Looking back on those developing country, taking China as anexample, the condition in Chinese country side has been much better , with moresmooth roads towards the downtown, more hospitals are built there, morechildren now have chance to be educated and those farmers’ pocket are full withmoney now.
Above all, in terms ofpresent society, we do not fail to raise those children who can benefit thesociety to some extent. In sum, from all theanalysis above, it is easy to reach the conclusion that the children’ssocialization is definitely not the only factor to determine the entire society’sdestiny.
Despite divergentunderstandings on the “better” concept, I do think our society thrives in adirection with more tolerance, respect and better development especially inpoor areas.
Thus, the author’s twopoints are both not convincing for me.
