How can we define the goal of one own, through what way can we attain the goal is define the most justifiable one? Inthe statement, the author claims that no matter what method one take to achievehis goal is justifiable if the goal is worthy, insofar I concede that whetherthe goal is worthy depends on various circumstances and how should it beattained is discussable.
If one goal is worthy, we should go get itno matter through what way and no matter it takes, but this assertion must bebased on a legal and just way which means no damage to the profit of otherpeople. If one attains his goal through illegal or other ways that would harmother's benefit and life, that would be absolutely unjustifiable, and throughwhich most mistakes have been done. In sports competitions, the very goal ofevery athlete, as the motto of Olympic Games defines, is be faster, higher andstronger. But there still exist someone who hold their motto as to attain themedal, and thus to get it by using drugs to assure them to get what they wantin the sports field. This kind of action has done damage to the justness andthe spirit of sports, hurt other athletes’' right and ruined their own fame andtarnished the intent they set when they started to practice sports. In this erawe call for sportsmanship and the devotion of what one loves. There are someother people who are as well possessed by money, they swindle children fromcareless parents and force those innocent children to beg money for them. Thosepeople mentioned above have attained their goal, which is worthy to them, butthrough a way of lying, cheating, and doing bad things to the public, and bywhich the public will never allow and such things get punished as they deserve.
However, as the old saying goes: a toothfor a tooth. We cannot deny that in order to defeat the evil, we shouldotherwise by the evil's way. Take the Second World War as an example. At thebeginning of the Second World War, Hitler was bragging and boasting to theGerman people that they were the exclusive and unique one, and the otherpeoples were of low level, especially the Jewish people. He had once said, toruin a nation one should give its young generation popular music, movies, andeverything good and thus dust the eye of the promising generation. The Nazigovernment of Hitler had committed inhumane massacres all over the world toattain his evil goal, but the world won't allow it, the people of rest of theworld demanded peace. Nations had allied and stood against the violence withviolence, as the result proves that only by violence could we regain ourpeaceful life. Thousands of soldiers had contributed their lives to the victoryof all human beings as a whole, and of which we should cherish and worship.
We are living in an age with less wars andviolence, and there are many other ways to attain our worthy goal, whichdefines as no violation to other people's right and benefits. By cooperationwith others, big companies can become international and transnational companyand thus gain more and more money and fame; by means of reading, talking andlistening to others, can a student become the first rank of his school; throughhardworking and diligence, a sportsman can get the golden medal and stand inthe center of the field.
To sum up, everyone has his own goal, nomatter it is big or small, long-standing or at present, unless it is of no harmto other people and the society and the adoption of intelligence andhardworking, and the belief of everything is impossible, can we attain whateverwe desire. |
