Society should identify those children who have special talents and provide training for them at an early age to develop their talents.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.
In present-day society, numerous issue emerges in the field of education. One of such novel ideas in the issue is that of training for special talents kids to develop their talents. The suggestion seems somehow ground at first glance. However, I contend that no matter whether the children have the ability at present, society should treat them the same, though there may be special response to the requirement that are made.
Admittedly, there are children who show their talents for something in the early age. They may have special question and request. Hence, it is reasonable to concentrate on them when they made such a requirement. Giving them extra help may be useful to form a guidance which they may not be satisfied with the normal "nutrition". Once they are enlightened by the guidance, such benefits will bring to their lives and have exerted strong influence on their life.
However, it does not mean to have special training for them. Special training may lead to some unexpected impact on students which makes they feel like being disdained, and have negative effects on the things they are interested in, let alone the what talents they may have. There are some students who did not show extinguish talents until they have grown up, if their interests are destroyed when they were young, it is such a lose to the whole society. If Albert Einstein, one of the great mind in the world though he was normal in his tens, whose interest was undermined in the youth, he would never become the so famous. Thus, it hurts to train for special talent kids.
What is more, people, of those who seem to be gifted, are not to be so success as they are expected. There was a experiment among those kids who were gifted and take an additional course, was conducted by Toby verte, a professor in college Mellon. His experiment shows that, those kids who show their gifts in the early year did not gain the success they seem to deserve. So, an extra training for those kids who show their talents in early time, which may generate bad influence on rest of kids, is not necessary at all.
In sum, the speaker goes to extremes about the cultivation of kids. Excess guidances, that are available when needed, may be helpful to enlighten and spur kids to study, but that does not mean a different treatment for the students. |
