【提纲】论点：艺术家确实为社会带来了具有持久价值的东西，但是作者忽略了评论家对于艺术的积极作用。
           1. 艺术家富有灵感与创造力的作品可以反映出人类的历史与文化；
               比如文艺复兴，达芬奇，毕加索，梵高等；
           2. 我们不能忽略评论家对于艺术的积极作用，分如下几点讨论：
               (1) 评论家能够发现杰出艺术家的作品价值；
               (2) 评论家能够帮助大众理解和解释艺术；
               (3) 评论家能够向艺术家表达大众对于艺术的反馈，使艺术家产生更好的作品。
           总结：艺术家与评论家都为社会带来具有持久价值的东西，二者相辅相成，杰出的艺术作品都是艺术家与评论家的产物。

     I agree with the speaker's broad assertion that artist provides society something of lasting value. However, the speaker oversimplifies the issue and overlooks positive of the critic who also gives society something of lasting value.

    I concede that the speaker emphasis the society lasting value that is attributed to the artist. After all, an artist's inspiration and creative works reflect the history and culture of human beings. Socially, art plays an important role by virtue of its capacity to embody symbolic significance to its audience. For example, artistes in Renaissance excelled at portraiture, a new art form that depicted people as individuals. Also, Picasso's works inspire the people's spirit as well as the work of Da Vinci. Accordingly, the example is used generally to point out that the work of artist reflect the historical period or context by showing us what was though beautiful, ornamental or fashionable.

    While the speaker oversees the critic who also can provide society something of lasting value in different way, as discussed below.

    To begin with, the critic can conduct us pay attention to the art. For instance, people often focus on the substance, such as automobile, apartment and food, rather than the art. The former is material and the latter is abstract. For that matter, without the critic, people seldom pay attention to the art in spite of the work is famous. So without the critic, the art is out of sight for human beings. In addition, even if people are interested in art, seldom can recognize. At the same time, critics, who are familiar with a particular artist, can help us understand and interpret art; critics might have certain insights about work that layman would not. Furthermore, a critic provides feedback for artists, as a 'bridge' between artist and people. In fact, the examination and review of art works, as done by art critics, is also a highly subjective procedure. Critics return the people's attitude to artists. Therefore, by reviewing art works, art critics are, to some extent, recreating the work in people' way that can result in better work.

    To sum up, critic as well as artist provides society something of lasting value. Moreover, artists and critics supplement each other. As time passes, the greatest works are those which are created by artists and evaluated by critics which draw people's attention towards those works.

I concede that the speaker emphasizes the society lasting value that is attributed to the artist.（我觉得有点读不通，我觉得可以考虑删去the speaker emphasizes，不用被动态，会直接点，the artist gives the society lasting value） After all, an artist's inspiration and creative works reflect the history and culture of human beings. Socially, art plays an important role by virtue of its capacity to embody symbolic significance to its audience.
