Nowadays, an increasing number of people tend to go abroad for travelling or higher education, and people in the world are more likely to get in touch with the foreigners through the international trade or even the msn? (Are you talking about the MSN 'messenger' software?). So that, Therefore the first thing people would like to do is to have a better understanding of the foreign country. However, as to me, I don't believe newspapers and magazines are the best way of learning about a foreign country, with for the following reasons.
To begin with, the information and resources in the newspapers and magazines are limited. Not only because of the pages of the published papers are too few to show us an all-rounded view of a foreign country, but also the world is changing in every second that the newspapers and magazines cannot update its their information as soon as the changes happen. Last semester, I wrote a paper about the England (If you're referring to the country, try to use 'the United Kingdom', or 'Britain'. Using 'England' to refer to 'United Kingdom' is still acceptable but outdated. Unless, of course, you're REALLY referring to 'England', which is the southern half of the big island.)'s culture and history, and the Internet and the school library are my helpful origins of all the information I got. Nobody will ask me why I didn't search for the information on the newspapers and magazines. (A library can and often do archive newspapers and magazines, so they are not mutually exclusive.) So that (You seem to be using this phrase in place of 'therefore'. 'So that' cannot lead a sentence.) it is clearly to see, the information in the newspapers and magazines cannot satisfy our great needs.
Secondly, the newspapers and magazines that introduce the foreign countries are not always available for to us. We know that the newspapers and magazines which are sold in the book stores are mainly about the current news. It may be hard for us to find a professional magazine introducing a foreign country, not to mention the newspapers. While, when we want to know about a country, it will be great if we come across a foreigner and can have a nice talk with them him. What's more, the most effective way for us to search for the a country's information is just browsing in its website or google what we want to know. (Not the most effective way..true, but 'not the most effective' might not necessarily be the same as 'not the best'. You seem to be talking about effectiveness, which is one aspect of quality, rather than an overall idea of quality in both paragraphs. What you write here is good enough per TOEFL standard, but in case you wish to make your arguments fully relevant, you'll need to fully address the question's issue about 'best' in each paragraph.)
To sum up, when we want to have a better understanding of a foreign country, the Internet, the library, and the foreign friends and so on so forth will be our perfect guides to that new country, which are far better than the narrowed-down newspapers and magazines. So that's why I don't support them as the best way to learn about a foreign country.
总结:
总体来说没有太大问题,语言和论述都不错,复数名词作主语前面不必要加the这个需要注意一下。其他的是一些小的语法错误,还有就是可以继续加强论述对问题的回溯。 |
