The issue of weather Tradition and modernization are incompatible and we must choose between them is a complex and controversial one. Different people hold different opinions due to their respective ways of looking at an issue. In my point of view, however, I agree that, to some extent, there are indeed some conflictions between the tradition and modernization. Rather, I hold the opinion that it is unnecessary for us to choose one and abandon the other, and what we should do is absorbing its quintessence and discarding its dross, and finally maximizing the benefits of the two for our social civilization. My will be greatly strengthened by the following discussion.
To begin with, admittedly, the tradition and the modernization conflict in many ways, such as the traditional production methods and advanced manufacturing, and superstition beliefs and modern scientific knowledge. For example, in the automobile industry, instead of the traditional production whose most procedures are predominantly done by hand, the modern manufacturing is getting the more specific robots involved with higher precision, less time consuming, and lower cost. We definitely choose the modern ones rather than the traditional methods. Similarly in the field of medication, for example, the ancient Chinese believe that the alchemists' “gold cooks” can make people immortality and are not hesitate to obtain one even at great expense, while the modern science tells us that no one could avoid the destiny of death, and the so called “gold cooks” has little function about medical care and sometimes maybe poisons for people since they involve deadly heavy metal contamination.
However, some traditional customs and cultures are still preserved from generation to generation, whatever the continually modernization of society. For example, the Spring Festival which is used to be viewed as a convention for the ancient Chinese to eradicating the assumed monster “Xi” is passing down from the ancient times to now. Although, with the development of the modernization we know that there is no monster at all, we Chinese still keep the custom as the most important traditional holiday in which we get together with families, eat dumplings, shoot off firecrackers, draw festival pictures, and stick couplets. We still preserve such traditions in the modern time just as a way for people to express their feelings for best wishes of a new year. It is the same situation when it is comes to the culture. As we known, there are uncountable languages in the world because of different regions, nations, and counties. Some of languages are spoken widely, while others are not. Although, the languages of minorities are threatened with extinction, we try our best to use the modern technologies to preserve the traditional ones because we regard these languages as an indispensable treasure for human civilization.
In addition, seemingly contradictory, the tradition is the base of the modernization, and it can be good for the development of modernization. The modernization is often an extension, or new interaction, of tradition, or at least a variation on it. For example, most the scientific research works are derived from the traditional ones. Just as Newton once says that if he can see farther, it is because he stands on the shoulder of giants. We learn from the traditions in order to figure out who we were and what we have done, which will finally enlighten us about who we want to be and what we will do. There is Chinese saying that when drinking water think of its source. That is to say that we get so many achievements which contribute to the modern society is because of the base of traditions. Without experience of our predecessors we cannot go far let alone having a promising future.
To sum up, basing my conclusion on the illustrations and exposition mentioned above, accordingly, I hold that tradition and modernization do conflict sometimes. However, the tradition and modernization are not incompatible and necessarily mutually exclusive. Therefore, we had better to combine the tradition and modernization in our pursuit of social development.

The issue of whether tradition and modernization are incompatible and we must choose between them is a complex and controversial one(开篇指出本问题的复杂性). Different people hold different opinions due to their respective ways of looking at this issue. In my point of view, however, I agree that, to some extent, there are indeed some conflictions between the tradition and the modernization(部分肯定原观点). Rather, I hold the opinion that it is unnecessary for us to choose one and abandon the other, what we should do is absorbing its quintessence and discarding its dross, and finally maximizing the benefits of the two for our social civilization. My will be greatly strengthened by the following discussion(连接句,感觉这么写有些奇怪).(个人感觉开头部分写得过多,我不知道开头将自己的各个分论点也详细表述出来是不是合适,还是提炼出来观点写下就可以?)
To begin with, admittedly, the tradition and the modernization conflict in many ways, such as the obsolete production methods and advanced manufacturing (另加个词和methods对应?), and superstition beliefs and modern scientific knowledge. For example, in the automobile industry, instead of the traditional production whose most procedures are predominantly completed by hand, the modern manufacturing is getting the more specific robots involved with higher precision, less time consuming(consumed 定语?), and lower cost. We definitely choose the modern ones rather than the traditional methods(ones 和methods互换好些吧)(Finn对例子的描述概括很好,特点很明显,学习了). Similarly in the field of medication, for example, the ancient Chinese believe that the alchemists' “gold cooks(cook是指人的,待确认?)” can make people immortality and are not hesitate to obtain one even at great expense, while the modern science tells us that no one could avoid the destiny of death, and the so called “gold cooks” has little function about medical care and sometimes maybe(与sometimes有意思上的重叠) even poisons for people since the “gold cooks” involves (contains? ) deadly heavy metal contamination. (这一段论点很明确,例子也论述得好,一方面讲社会生产,另一方面将社会思想,不同深度)
However, some traditional customs and cultures are still preserved from generation to generation, whatever(有些困惑) the continual(adj.) modernization of society. Although, the languages of minorities are threatened with extinction, we try our best to use the modern technologies to preserve the traditional ones because we regard these languages as an indispensable treasure for human civilization.(论证方法和第二段类似,采用两个相似的例子从不同的角度证明论点,个人感觉两个例子比较类似,第二个例子应该跨度更大或者尝试一个更高的层次总结。另外感觉观点总结深化不够,论证略显单薄,建议适当笔墨加深论述传统习俗和文化的意义)
In addition, while seemingly contradictory, the tradition is the base of the modernization, and it can be good for the development of modernization. There is a Chinese saying that when drinking water think of its source. That is to say that we get so many achievements which contribute to the modern society is because of the base of traditions(此句读起来有些别扭). Without experience of our predecessors we cannot go far let alone having a promising future.(个人感觉,作为主体的最后一段,需要对观点进行深化拔高,本段举的例子似乎对论证现代化源于传统并不特别契合,使得本段读起来不是那么appealing)

The issue of weather Tradition and modernization are incompatible and we must choose between them is a complex and controversial one(去掉a 和one). Different people hold different opinions due to their respective ways of looking at an(the) issue. In my point of view, however(去掉,这里没有转折的意味), I agree that, to some extent, there are indeed some conflictions between the tradition and modernization. However, I would rather hold the opinion that it is unnecessary for us to choose one and abandon the other, and what we should do is absorbing its quintessence and discarding its dross, and finally maximizing the benefits of the two for our social civilization. My will be greatly strengthened by the following discussion.
To begin with, admittedly, the tradition and the modernization conflict in many ways, such as the traditional production methods and advanced manufacturing, and superstition beliefs and modern scientific knowledge. For example, in the automobile industry, instead of the traditional production whose most procedures are predominantly done by hand, the modern manufacturing is getting the more specific robots involved with higher precision. Less(另起一句,加强语气)time consuming, and lower the cost. We definitely choose the modern ones rather than the traditional methods.(这一句可以去掉) Similarly in the field of medication, for example, the ancient Chinese believe that the alchemists' “gold cooks” can make people immortality and are not hesitate to obtain one even at great expense, while the modern science tells us that no one could avoid the destiny of death, and the so called “gold cooks” has little function about medical care and sometimes maybe poisons for people since they involve deadly heavy metal contamination.(第一个例子很好,但是第二个我怀疑美国老师看不懂,因为我一开始没想到长生药的时候也没明白,)
However, some traditional customs and cultures are still preserved from generation to generation, whatever the continually modernization of society.(这句话很怪,试试 no matter what the continually social form is) For example, the Spring Festival which is used to be viewed as a convention for the ancient Chinese to eradicating the assumed monster “Xi” is passing down from the ancient times(time) to now. Although, the languages of minorities are threatened with extinction, we try our best to use the modern technologies to preserve the traditional ones because we regard these languages as an indispensable treasure for human civilization.(这一段的所有一人称改成三人称,更客观和有说服力,因为这不是你本人的自身经历故事,)
In addition, seemingly contradictory, the tradition is the base of the modernization, and it can be(do) good for the development of modernization.
