Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertising is the most important cause of unhealthy eating habits.

With the revolutionary development of technology, the tempo of human life has been significantly speeded up, so does the eating habit. From the rash favor of fast-food to the popular awareness of healthy diet, advertising, in this process, has been making an important role. As to whether it's the primary cause resulting in unhealthy eating habits, in my opinion, it differs in cases.

Advertising, as the most widespread means of publicity, serves for offering amounts of information about eating. Sometimes it leads the inclination of selecting food people used to have towards dangerous directions. Before the introduction of fast-food, Chinese people have maintained traditional eating habits for thousands of years. The old habits are pretty suitable and helpful for health. However, the extensive advertisement of KFC and McDonald has attracted hundreds of thousands of Chinese to pursue the fad. What’s worse, more and more children tend to get addicted to those junk foods, doing a great harm to their bodies. A widely clear and scientific understanding of these advertisements is necessary and urgent.

Though the rapid pace of life needs the corresponding speed of eating, most people know the health is more important. In other words, among the various advertisements, how to live healthy is always one of the main topics. Chinese people didn’t have the habit of drinking milk until the pervading publicity of its benefits. Parents buy their children fresh milk every day, hoping they will grow up stronger. Girls drink yogurt every night before sleep so that they will have more beautiful faces. Because of the milk advertisement, Chinese people got to know another kind of healthy eating pattern. It’s really thankful that we’ve got a lot of useful information about eating habits from advertisements.

Advertising does improperly provide people messages of bad eating habits, taking leaflets of meal delivery service for example. This virtually makes people move much less, leading to fatness in a great possibility. However, realizing the harm of bad habits once had, in the recent years people have turned to focus on different ways of healthy diets. In particular, there’re plenty of advertisements of instructional books or lecture programs about eating habits.

Actually, no matter what is advertising, proving it out needs practice and time. So the most important for people is to never be credulous of an advertisement, neither be stubborn to reject any good advice on eating healthy. Having sufficient vegetables and fruit, plus enough sports, is always the best way of keeping healthy, I think.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career.

Older people always suggest younger ones taking a long stable career, while many of them prefer to try various jobs in order to find a right niche for themselves. It's always one of the most controversial topics nowadays, and at this point, I never reject that young people should try jobs in different fields; neither doubt that holding a relatively long stable career is a wise choice.

After graduation, the primary thing to do, for young people, is accumulating work experience. In particular, for those whose major in college somehow has shown a clear direction of career development, remaining working in the relevant field for long is the best way to gain professional knowledge and practice. One friend of mine majored economy and has stayed in his first company as long as 6 years so far. Now, my friend has not only improved his practical ability onto another high level, but also became an excellent master in his domain. Moreover, I’ve heard recently that he will be promoted the third time. While I am happy for him, I find that a long term occupational history is the strongest demonstration of both professional qualities and loyalty towards company.

There’re amounts of young people who are very active and innovative and they never want to be restricted to the jobs confined by their majors. These people are more capable to learn new skills and challenge new difficulties. We can easily find lots of successful men who harvest current achievements by working through different companies in the past. Besides, in current days an overall developed generalist is quite promising, too. In particular, the higher the position is, the broader knowledge one should obtain. So for young people who aim for managerial position, trying several different jobs is a good idea, too.

In my opinion, young people will get to know what they really want to do and what is most suitable for them after trying several types of work. In addition, it happens a lot that many people plan to go aboard for further study after working a long time. However, there’re also some utilitarian young people who job-hopped too often just for higher salary. In this case, blind trial is mere vainness.

In sum, it varies in many cases whether young people should try a few different jobs before settling down a stable career. Anyway, no matter what young people work on, the most significant thing is not how often one changes jobs, but how much one has accumulated and obtained from practice.

7-31的作文

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Newspapers and magazines are the best ways to learn about a foreign country.

When it comes to good ways to learn about a foreign country, some people may blurt out newspapers and magazines are better, but I think there must be some people shaking their heads negatively. For me, pretty curious for knowledge about foreign cultures, I support, without doubt, that there’re ways preferable to newspapers and magazines, such as television programs and internet.

As we all know that vast majority of content published in newspapers is current news. So the information about foreign countries is much limited. Each time I open a morning paper, the most important and widely read edition in my city, all rush to my eyes is nothing but gimmick news or overspread advertisements. Even though I luckily come across some reports about the country I concern, they are always short or outdated for me. Worse still, people barely preserve the old newspapers they have read, leaving the mere information about foreign countries far behind. Once they want to review it, the useful reference has been thrown away.

It can’t be denied there’re some magazines which are specialized for providing knowledge about foreign countries. However, they are always expensive and people usually need to wait a long time for the next issue. I have had to wait one month for a new welcome to Japan and ended up paying another 10 Yuan. Because publishers wanted to attach beautiful pictures and improve the paper quality, for appealing more readers, it took longer time to prepare and the price was increased. In addition, when people require more detailed explanation and background about certain event or phenomenon they are interested in, it’s inevitable to turn to other ways for help.

Nevertheless, my curiousness for knowing foreign countries has never been constrained by newspapers or magazines. TV programs and internet contribute to my learning a lot. Television programs explain foreign cultures lively both by narration and video, which helps me understand it more clearly. What’s better, internet provides us chances to chat with people from many different countries, which is the most efficient and convenient way to learn about their customs.

In sum, to learn about a foreign country, though newspapers and magazines are helpful to some extent, they are not the best ways I recommend. TV programs and internet benefits us more, indeed.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A job with more vacation time but a low salary is better than a job with a high salary but less vacation time.

How should people decide when choosing a job from two different types: one with a low salary but more vacation days; one with a decent salary but less time to rest? It’s a tough decision because people always have to make a compromise, leaving one tantalizing benefit behind. For me, I would love to work with a relatively lower salary but more vacation opportunities.

It’s pretty harmful for health when people focus most of their energy on working without proper rest and adjust. Especially, nowadays, high working pressure has resulted in both physical illness and psychological disorders. So, enough time to rest is badly in need. Taking many white-collars for example, it has been proved by tens of researchers hundreds of times that continuous sitting in front of the desk and operating a computer is seriously bad for them. They often pain in their necks, backs and fingers after long time working. What’s worse, those uncomfortable feelings, couple with the measly vacation time, will contribute nothing but aggravate their mental stress, leading to poor efficiency at work and a dangerous cycle on health. At this point, a high salary helps no more than cut down one’s rest time using which people can relax and gain a healthy, more meaningful life.

Many people believe that earning more and resting less demonstrates their personal abilities and dedication spirit; however, to the contrary, the more knowledgeable and skilled one person is, the better he balances time and salary. There’re a lot of excellent art masters who earn rather less money just because they want to work with enough free time for cultivating their creative inspiration and accomplish greater works. In addition, one professor in my collage who worked for years as a simultaneous interpreter received both decent salaries and high respects once upon a time, but he resigned it and became a teacher. He tells us that he loves teaching. Moreover, he feels life is quite enjoyable during the two vacations each year. In this case, we can find out that achievable people always ignore salary comparing with personal time.

In fact, weighing a job needs one to have a discerning view of different aspects hiding behind it. Most people struggle to rap an opportunity of increasing their income, but meanwhile, amounts of them just cling to the ostensible decency regardless of health and true happiness. So, I will never recommend people to choose a job with a high salary but less vacation time.
