我突然意识到一件事：我记得是羊mmPS内容是文学方向，但项目申的都是EAS？我记得很早以前帖子里讨论过这个问题，当时我以为mm申错了，应该申EAL，mm说EAS招生简章里也有文学方向，我看了一下还真有，是自己孤陋寡闻了。

不过。。我当时也提过我过去一个朋友申圣路易斯，文学方向，申成EAS，对方说他申错了系。后来纠缠了一阵，对方帮他把材料转到EAL，最终录取。

mm要不要试试看啊。。问问剩下的学校有没申错？

没有实力就是没有实力，可我怎么向支持我看好我的同学朋友家人交代。。面对他们信任的眼神。。。

羊mm，刚刚才看到你的帖子和这里其他人的回应，觉得大家说得都差不多了，作为一个比你大很多的过来人我还想告诉你一句：给自己一点时间。你还这么年轻，时间是你最大的财富，在这个年纪挥霍一点享受一点再积累一点是你的权利。不要用结果来衡量自己，也不要在跟他人的比较中否定自己。不管这次申请的结果如何，你一定已经从中学到了很多东西，这就是它的价值。学会享受过程，任何经验都是宝贵的。放慢脚步才能欣赏到更美的风景……

The point is what you really want.
This is based on that you know what kind of person you are. For certain things you only know them by personally experiencing and the outcome is not so important in a sense. Frustration may not be a bad thing always, not to mention it may happen only temporarily. So what being titled as doctor if you dont like doing research in a field? One of my friends is such a case. He earned his PhD two years ago and went to a peach-land-like country to do his postdoc, and supposed to stay there for his whole rest life. No academic ambitions nor social involvement aspiration. His life, rather, his life as a member of human society, has ended up to some extent. We respect the entitlement people choose their own life style but we must learn if it is what we also want. I must say I dont want it: what's the point? - in my humble view.
To turn back to the case concretely,
DO NOT APPLY - if you already learned that you dont like academic research or dont like the research in this particular field. With a bachelor degree, even a master one, you would have more chance to secure a stable job (not very sure about arts field, but may not differ much)
DO NOT APPLY - if you still dont know yourself very well. Then find a job and take some time to do it. Even you decide to pursue the academic laurel later, work experience would do no harm - most probably would conversely make you somehow stand out if it overlaps your applying field.
DO APPLY - if you already think about the future plan and you know yourself well enough. But it is rather difficult for a fresh graduate in humanities, where age takes advantage in application - to some degree.
Then we come back to the time issue.
