94.

The argument come to the conclusion that in order to increase the sales and profits,we should include whirlpool tubs and larger kitchens in all new homes and decrease the size of the yards. To support the result, the arguer reveals that the nationwide survey which shows the two most desired home features are whirlpool tubs and larger kitchens and the sales achievement of the competitor on the homes with the two features. And causes there is no complains about our small yards, we can also make the yards smaller to increase profits further. However, these measures cannot work as well as thought for there exist several fallacies.


First, the nationwide study cannot represent the exact condition of the place where our homes sell, we cannot assess a small home markets according to a nationwide scrutiny. There must be many differences between the nation and a part of country, if the surroundings of the home markets are just on the contrary to the nation's condition, the company will be presumed to suffer fail sales of homes. To make the survey more convincing, it is necessary to provide more evidences that show the similar environments of the home markets between the nationwide and our home markets.


Second, the argument commits a false analogy. The arguer unfairly assumes that the competitor's achievement of the sales on homes which with whirlpool tubs and larger kitchens would ensure the similar success to our company. Obviously, something important has been overlooked, like the inherent differences between we and our competitor. Thus, it would be more interesting if an all-around comparison considered in the argument.


Third, there is no evidence that our buyers will not complain about the size of yards in the future, so the conclusion to decrease the size of yards can make more profits is irresponsible to our consumes, since they buy our homes in that of trust us. Recklessly discount the size of yards would probably decrease the sales and profits, moreover we may lost our consumes' trust
and others potential. Before a complete consideration, the measures should not be realized for the benefits of the company.


To sum up, the argument draw the conclusion without sufficient evidences that proves his result. Good for the company, more scrutiny is needed on the environment of the home sale markets and the similarities or differences between the competitor and us. Besides, an all-around thoughts about our homes need to be known in order to sell homes with clear aim.
