题目：ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

The speaker claims that it is how children are socialized today that determines the destiny of our society; however people fail to socialize them well. I concede that the social abilities of children will produce a profound impact on the development of our future society. Nonetheless, as for me, it has gone to extremes to assert that we have not yet learned how to raise children. Besides, too much emphasis on children's social abilities would cause many other serious problems.

There is no denying that social ability is a vital element of our society, especially for children, tomorrow of the society. The social ability includes the interpersonal ability, the cooperating ability, the communicating ability etc. A growing number of people pay much attention to these abilities in order to be successful. As we know, when we need information, we would have to communicate with others; when we attend to finish a huge project, we must gather many peers to work together according to the ability of cooperating; still, everybody would prefer a harmony circumstance to live in so that we could enjoy a happy life and do our job more efficiently. In short, the social abilities affect nearly every corner of our society, and also affect every single moment of our daily lives. How children are socialized today determines what tomorrow would be like of society.

Though the social ability brings about such a far-reaching effect, we are sorry to see that there are still many serious problems exist in cultivating the children. Yesterday, when I was browsing the web sites from the internet, I was astonished by news that a ten years old student killed his mother only because his mother forced him go to finish his homework. This phenomenon is not rare. Many little children who lack of ability of communication or legal awareness could easily ruin their lives and exert harmful effect to the society, for had not been paid enough attention to cultivate their social abilities. Both the parents and schools, even the whole society should pay more attention to the growth of the children.

Nonetheless, it is also too extremely to assert that we have not yet learned how to raise children. After all, according to the rapid development of our society, people have made so many achievements during recent several centuries. To examine this point, we need go no further than our homes. We use telephone to connect with our relatives and friends; with the help of internet, we gather much information from all over the world only by a single click. Compare with the old days, we are very confident to say the children had been brought up successfully.

Finally, before I come to my conclusion, I would like to assert that people should not pay too much attention to the children's social abilities, on the other hand, the ability of learning and physical exercises are also very important aspects. In China, we usually say “Our bodies are the basic of successes.” Without good physical conditions, children could hardly give any contribution to the society, but stay at home and have their pills every day. Otherwise, the ability of learning also determines what the children can do in future.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with the speaker that children's social abilities determine the destiny of society. However, it has gone to extreme to say people have not learned how to raise children. After all, our society has developed so rapidly during recent centuries. Moreover, people should also pay attention to many other aspects of the children, such as ability of learning and physical exercises.
