10.11 独立作文 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Sports teach people lessons about life.

Most animals, such as cats, learn their skills for survivor through playing games with their sisters and brothers in the childhood. Humans, of course, do the same to oder to learn lessons about life. Sports, involve competition and cooperation, always play a vital role in building our characters such as tenacity and cooperation, which are of importance in our later lives.

One thing sports do teach us is the significance of tenacity. Take a marathon race for example, which requires great energy before tasting the joy it brings. It is undoubted that the long distance is a huge challenge to most people. The desire to reach the destination, which stems from human nature, inspires us to run further as possible as we could. Yet only the one with both a strong will and a strong body can finish his journey in a marathon race. By joining this activities, everyone can learn something: people with persistence, who reach the end, share the joy of victory with the rest of the world; most people, who are not able to finish the whole race, may think about what stand in the way to the terminal point. During this sort of sports, we get to know the value of persistence in sports, which is also of benefit to our lives.

Furthermore, sports, especially those involve teamwork, tell us how to cooperate. To win this kind of game, such as basketball or football, we have to rely on a perfect strategy of attack and defence rather than heroism. There is a good chance that a team which consists of average players who are well organized win the battle to a team with the best player but poor cooperation. In addition, to some people, this is also an opportunity to develop their leadership skills. These kills we can obtain from sports activities, either a sense of commitment to the group or the art of leadership, serve great purposes in our success in later lives.

To sum up, human beings learn their lessons in many ways at the time they try to understand the world. Sport is one of the effective means to instruct us. The sport field, offering us a place to relax and have fun, helps us to acquire knowledge to survive in our society.

Some people think one’s working is more important than being with one’s family

It is universally accepted that career and family are the two things we value the most in our lives. When it comes to the question-which is more important between the two, people varies in their answers. As for me, my family is always my first concern. This is not to say that I do not care about my job; indeed, it is desirable if I can handle my career well at no expense of my family. But the joy from being with my family cannot be replaced by anything else, including the satisfactory might gain from my work.   


The stability of family is always on the top of my considerations since family members are the persons we deeply love in the world. Devoting too much time with one's career, which leaves little time with your family, is not a wise option since being with one's family can bring us boundless happiness. No one wants to miss their babies' first step or graduation ceremonies; no one wants to leave their parents alone and helpless when they are not in a good physical state. At time like this, whether we try to keep in mind as valuable memories or show our deep love for our families, job, of course, is not our first consideration.


Second, nothing can compensated for neglecting your family but we always have another chance to fulfill our career goals. Being a busier in jobs, those who ignore their responsibilities to their family, might suffer from a disobedient child or a sudden loss of their parents. Furthermore, with no one to share, a successful career equates nothing to some extent. Just imagine, a successful business man, who did a bad job either as a husband or as a father which led his family to leave him, would not feel good about himself. On the other side, a family who takes good care of their members with average income can enjoy their lives.


To sum up, everyone wants to balance family and career at the same time. A good performance at work brings us a sense of success and money to support family, but I will give priority to my family if the two conflict, since my family is everything to me.
